I hear dispensaries here in Illinois take debit cards. I used my credit card to purchase from seedsman. Twice. Lol
Seedsman is based in the UK.

!00% wrong.
No it isn't 100% wrong. You can't use a credit card in the United States. However a debit card is different and is processed using what's called a cashless ATM process conducted at the POS. It may have a VISA or Mastercard logo but is processed just as if you are taking cash out of an ATM. Credit card processors will not knowingly service the cannabis industry due to federal law.

There may be a random US seedbank or dispensary in the United States that will process credit cards and risk taking those forms of payments but they are few and far between and are taking a chance as FDIC banks will not knowingly conduct business with cannabis businesses due to cannabis being illegal at the federal level. As such, a business using an FDIC bank likely failed to disclose to the bank that they were a cannabis business and if found out their bank account can be subject to being closed.

There is the SAFE Banking Act which was passed in the House but stalled in the Senate which would give banks the ability to service the cannabis industry despite cannabis still being illegal at the Federal level. That stands a good chance of becoming law now that the Democrats are in control.

But I think I've gotten off track as the OP's question was that of purchasing seeds online. Which I'm sure that there are a few places that do accept various forms of payment but the vast majority do not as they would need a bank account to process the payments and many of the online seedbanks do not use bank accounts or even have proper business registrations that list what type of business they are operating. Many are operating as clandestine operations and with the current state legalization while differing from federal law there doesn't seem to be any interest by the feds to go after any of these seedbanks.

I just looked at that North Atlantic Seed Bank you linked to and it looks like they're doing some third party form of processing. Likely offshore. But you can't just directly use a CC on their website. They send you an email with a link and then you use that link to pay. I suppose it doesn't matter how they do it as long as you get your seeds but they are not processing a CC like a normal business would. They're using a workaround which sucks as the third party processor is likely charging significant fees that are either passed on to the customer or come out of the vendors profit.

I have no desire to work with them as they offer nothing of value to me. They have nothing I want or need.

I'm talking about the behind the scenes processing taking place. If you don't care to understand how that works that's fine. But just the fact that they send you a link in order to submit payment via credit card and do not have that direct option available on their website shows that they are not processing CC's like a standard business probably because of US banking regulations which is the point I was making but is apparently of no interest to you. I've always used bitcoin for my seed purchases and payment was processed immediately but I am interested about the methods used to circumvent standard banking procedures regarding sales of cannabis products.

And if you had read my post you would have noticed I said "likely" with regards to additional fees which would be hard to reason that there are none involved and are either accounted for in the price or the vendor takes the hit. Similar to accepting payment through paypal where when I invoice a client or use the card swiper on my phone paypal takes a cut that I absorb myself without passing any of the cost on. It's just the price of doing business.

I understand what you're saying. You say seedsman is in UK, my cc was charged in China. My cc company almost didn't authorize it because they thought it was a fraudulent charge.

It's Kyle Kushman. He is the Master Breeder behind the strain Strawberry Cough.
Kyle didn't actually breed the strain Strawberry Cough, it was given to him, by a stranger.
He says that the only reason he kept the gifted clone, from said stranger, is because the clone itself smelled of strawberries.
When Kyle relocated from NYC to Cali, he drove cross country, handing out Strawberry Cough clones along the way.
So while he is responsible of the proliferation of Strawberry Cough, it is not a plant of his own creation.

Oh. Well I guess I shouldn't expect everything I read online to always be the complete truth. At the end of the day, I wasn't there. How would I know?

Like some of the other good people on here that have already tried and figured out that you can use credit cards to purchase seeds in the US. You should try North Atlantic Seed Co. They take any card, good selection also they informed that they were adding new breeders, have ultra fast delivery to any state in the US, I use them often the billing on my card reflects no mention of cannabis purchases in any way .
