Which size pot for 4x4 grow tent?

sorry for the delay, been busy lately. I'm not well known anyhoo so there's that. lol My final pot size depends on the veg period. I really don't have a defined system other than how and when I feed. When I run Super Lemon Haze I veg for 6 weeks and my final pot size is 7 Gallons for 4 of them. But I top the hell out of them and then ALL of the new tops become lollipops, so to speak. When I run 4 Ghost Haze from my mother I don't top as much and only veg for 4 weeks because they stretch like 80% 'BUT' they go into 7's as well because bloom is 2-4 weeks longer and they need the root space. Now a shorter flowering time strain that gets's stretchy, like Sour Amnesia will only go into 5's as they don't need all the root space and they wont be vegged as long because of their height AND the fact that they take longer to recover from toppings. With Big Bud, and a goal of 2 lbs, I'd personally go 9 3.5s with a downright hurtful to watch topping regimen (let em grow up a little and top em, then they start growing out and up, top em again while basically act like your taking a hedger to the tops and clean out the little stuff underneath and inside the core of the plant that won't get light anyway) for 4-5 weeks of veg. Bloom out under a thousy. Big Bud LOVES to eat so don't be afraid to go full strength on nutes. When you see tips burning only, dial down on base nutes a bit until new leaves don't have burn. Then it's time to hit em harder. Also, as with any breed really, clones are more branchy and make better yields than gambling on phenos from seed. I hope this helps you out some. Happy growing mate

Word thanks!!! Yeah big bud could definitely take 5 weeks veg, my other option was blue dream but everyone says it grows too damn much lol, but I might have to buy a two foot extension to make it happen... but yeah man thanks for the advice!!!! I have básically almost everything I need... just gotta pay a visit to the local flower shop and see if they have a few things I need if not I will have to order online... but yeah eventually I will buy two 2x2 tents so that I can make two mothers of the best strains I find... one will be blue dream because I like that one and the next will be another high yielding strain but low pungent smell so I don’t get in trouble lol

No problem friend. Always glad to help. Blue dream is definitely a gamble from seed as far as banging out any weight, but the high is so good that it's one I keep in my stash at all times along with my Ghost Train Haze (Rare Dankness), and a breed (strain makes it sound like a virus, and I've had enough of viruses for the year...lol) called Jack Mist Tree from Dr Krippling/Cali Connection that is absolute FIRE without crippling me. None of them get a lot of weight in a reasonable amount of time, but they are great productivity smokes. One more quick note though, environment is crucial. Keep it dialed in and you're on your way. You can experiment with factors and breeds which is kinda fun because every plant from seed is different on where it's comfortable. Mind temp swings from day and night. when you go into flower, extreme temp swings and/or light leaks are herm territory, and it really does stunt growth. It's kinda like not getting a good night's rest. If you were warm all day and it get's too cold at night, you don't sleep well and plants can't pull up a blanket or cover their eyes from an annoying light bugging them. If we don't sleep well, we aren't as productive as we would be with a good night's rest. same concept, different systems. lol. I use bottled CO², I have a very nice par meter for getting my lights where I want them and use that in correlation with an infrared thermometer to measure leaf surface temp and make adjustments to atmospheric temp accordingly. I'm a science super nerd that just so happens to get stoned and hope to someday become a well-known member like my idol (RIP Monty). He was a walking treasure trove of information and shared it without asking anything in return. Also watch out for a couple users on here that want to try and sell you their 'knowledge' because they do exist and somehow don't get banned. There are thousands of us on here that just want the world to be a better, more informed place, and part of making that happen is being kind and sharing knowledge, (not trying to sell it). Everyone says go big but the 6.5 height might be a limiting factor. Only veg until half the height you can use. After the flip most plants will double at least. In height. I think and I use the same size tent and I use 5 gallon

Of course!!!! Yeah I think if it hadn’t been for a few guys in here including yourself I would have never been able to feel comfortable to invest into growing my own flowers, I think my initial investment just for this 4x4 is like 3 grand for the full grow, maybe more, plus after the first grow I will invest into a smaller maybe 2x4 for veg time, for I can have a more frequent harvest... but I’m super excited dude lol I will post pics up as soon as I have everything set up and seeds popping out!!! But thanks it’s good to have good peers like yourself who are willing to help and teach those that are starting out or even those that have time but want to do different things to see different outcomes... ah one question now that I’m thinking about it, so I’ve heard to bring colors out of the buds that are purple or blue etc, temperature has to be a little colder at night? Is that true?

Well it's a yes and no answer, first and foremost, the genetics need to produce the anthocyanins that make a breed purple, but cooler temperatures and pH are both contributing factors in getting the best display of color. Now some breeds will be purple all the time like fastbuds LSD-25 and sweet seeds purple lemonade because of their genetics. Sweet seeds has two other VERY unique breeds for showing colors that turn bright red consistently via genetics (Tropicanna Poison and Red Hot Cookies) and I once had two sex wax ladies that grew almost 7 feet tall and some pink buds while others were green. My super lemon haze turns like half purplish pinkish thanks to the mother I chose but I also increase the alkalinity of my feed in the last couple of weeks (wound up trying that because of my hydrangeas. lol) and I always lower temps, humidity, and lights-on time. If I don't do the PH adjustments for the last few weeks, the color show is not as spectacular as it is when I do. If I don't lower temps enough the kids don't exhibit any color change except for maybe being a little lighter green. I'v got a four parent breed I've done myself over the last few years that I call Dead Shark (White Shark X Mendo Breath)x(Zombie Death Fuck x Purple Russian Express) )that stands stupid amounts of heat (100°+) and it turns almost black regardless of temps. It's more genetic than anything imho but if it's reccesive, it can usually be brought out with the proper environmental factors. Sorry that I never have a short answer but I'm a sativa fan. lol

Totally cool man!!! Yeah my main goal is making some good money, honestly I’ve always been into bud you know... never tried to grow until now because I used to live in Pennsylvania and it’s not legal there but now I live in a third world country and while it’s not legal here either I know a few people ready to pay some serious money for some exotic colorful bud... so if I can make a couple bucks and have some bomb bud for myself I’d be set lol... but yeah thanks man all that is totally useful, I was thinking of actually switching to zkittles from ilgm... it’s colorful and still has a good yield... I worry about yield because I’m investing all my saving plus some extra help, so I would need to replace those savings, plus also worry about if it’s too dank I can’t really grow it because I’m trying to be extra stealth... but those strains you spoke about give good yield? Like can I get a lb out of a 4x4?

You can get an LB easy out of a 4x4 with a 600 watt light.

4 ladies in 7s under a 600 is a totally doable lb with some TLC and a bit of veg time and a beast yielder, Dr. Krippling has a monster of a girl called Incredible bulk that can SERIOUSLY produce. It's not fire, but it's still damned decent. The production is what makes it so spectacular as long as you can keep humidity under control. Thick dense nugs like that like to get moldy without proper ventilation and humidity control. I've seen it make tops damn near the size of 1L bottles after being topped 3 times. Genetics, environment and food bro. Once you have that figured out, you're lit.
