Which US made LED?

I'm currently planning a a second grow area. I went with A51 for my first area but would like to try something like an Apache for this one and compare.

I just thought I'd ask whether anyone had any experience with apache lights or other US made lights first.

to my knowledge this is the best led available. http://htgsupply.com/Product-7-Band-864w-LED-Grow-Light.asp this one looks cool too http://www.californialightworks.com/Products_SolarStorm.htm.

the only bad thing is they don't really work good for a space more than 4'x4'. otherwise should produce some very nice quality buds for a small space. personally im sticking with hps but i plan on trying a plasma in the near future. leds are just too expensive atm to have large coverage. i would need about 9 of them 800 watters to efficiently grow in the space im using now with hps. also leds are the furthest from natural lighting. however they're energy efficient because they only give off usable spectrum of light. if prices come down i may use them for side lighting. right now i just use t5 blue spectrums.

I have the apache tech at120wr (3:2 rato). Very solid light. I have a few other lights from different companies and the apache is my favorite. I plan on buying another eventually if that helps. Let me know if theres some specific questions you have about it, also look up my journals to see it in action.

I'd like to see a side by side with Cali Lightworks or Apache Tech. Both seem to be top notch and not any disappointed owners that I heard of.

I would love to see that as well. Maybe I should give george at clw a buzz and see if he'd be interested.

As I start my search for more info. on the Apache, I can't help but ask about their claims of being the equivalent of 1000w HID? Are they strictly referring to their umol readings (~700 at 45cm)?

Needless to say I also found your thread with the Apache in action. Awesome job, puff.

Let me know what he says, I'll put up a light for a side by side. New light is almost ready too
EDIT: Uh oh, I smell a 2013 LED showdown...

Thanks for the compliment! Yeah, im not entirely sure what they meant by that statement, my guess would be the same as yours, in terms of umols. I doubt they mean in yield simply for the sake of coverage area differences.

I can see their light having equal to 1000w HPS PAR, within the footprint of the light. I think it would take about 4-6 of the 120w Apache's to take on a 1000w HPS footprint.

If you do the A51/Cali LW side by side, you should toss in the Apache too. That'd be a kickass side by side.

My new light, @ 145w draw, it has 1035 Umol'/s at the center @ 12" and covers up to 5 sq ft. (not sure what that compares to in HPS or other LEDs, I've only tested a few companies lights PAR output.)

Apache it is then. I only got 2x4' so one should suffice. I'd have to grow the same strain to run a true comparison though.
