white widow harvest time

hi all,

The pictures are White Widows (seeds from from Seedsman). They had like 4 weeks of veg duration. I know it is a bit long for veg but they were supposed to be a mothers then i changed my mind and wanted to bloom them after 4th week :)

This is like their 5th week into blooming. Today I changed the lighting to 440W T5 fluorescent lights due to very hot weather this week and a few helicopter passes around the neighbor. I kinda became paranoia of that :) Anyways there are only 10 plants for now under those lights.

I got 2 questions tho.

1) These lights are any good for flowering? Or i should definetely continue using my old 600W HPS lamps.. I read somewhere that T5 lights are also OK for blooming but want to know if anyone uses them for blooming.

2) These plants have brown hairs on them and I am thinking they are almost ready for harvest on their 5th week although i know they need 8 weeks in blooming period. So i wanted to be sure and ask here to experts since this is my first grow.

Please comment

Thanks

Hey stranger, yea they look beautiful. They need another 2 and half weeks defintly.
So I wouldnt mind giving them another dose of (N) and (K).
If I was you. Id be like, fuck it. throw on the hps. It'll be worth it.
Keep off during the day and run on at night to reduce temps.
Helis usually only do day runs when they look for growers.
And temps will be down.

Actually I was doing like you said.. They were running from 20:00 to 08:00 but these days it is around 20-25 degrees in the night and 30 degrees in the day so HPs makes it around 31 degrees in the night. I changed them to fluorescent immidiately when i saw that it shows 33 degrees.. I was like shit they are burning..

Dam. Defintly try more ventalition.
It'll be a blessing if you had that hps running instead of those Flourecents.
They'll work, but if I could.. I would switch to that.

yea more vent is always good. I have 3 vents in there. 1 is intaking the air from outside, 1 is blowing warm air to outside and 1 is blowing mist air inside. But then again another paranoia shows up because of the too much noise/sound lol..

good idea :)

I think I will listen you and turn back to HPS for a better harvest on wednesday. I just check it and weather says that the temperatures will drop to 7 degrees in the night on wednesday I am hoping at least 500 grams from 10 plants to cover my bills for this setup :)

You know what id do with 500 grams?
Id take a shower to wash my genitals from any odor.
Dry off..

Then rub it all up in their!

Then dispense it to the children of the corn.
Lol.

Get aquarium bulbs. 460 nm-420nm for clorophyll A and orange/red for bloom, clorophyll B, preferably in the 630nm range. Results can't compare to standard 6500k and 2700k t5

Ok I changed my mind and put back my 600W HPS back in and also threw in another 90W Blue/Red mixed LED lamp for the last 2.5 weeks. Lets see the results..
