Hoping to get a diagnosis on these girls. 3 plants, about 7 weeks into it.

Pic 1 is the first plant, Pic 2 & 3 the second (and first to bud) and Pic 4 the third.

Any help is appreciated, as this is my first grow.

of course, it would be nice if the buds fattened up a little..but i cant complain i guess..

Nah they aren't ready, maybe another week to fatten and mature. Are you growing them under cfl?

just a low budget set-up, really-- five floro tubes- total 165w, + 2 60w CFLs.

THese plants starting budding about a week or so before I put them on 12-12. Then about...hmmm...I think this weekend will be 7 weeks flowering. They have been growing since early August.

I think I am going to harvest the top buds in 4-5 days and then move the lights closer to the lower, less developed ones...seems like they need more light..

Do u think these will fatten up if I wait longer ...I don't want too stony of a high so I know I'm getting close

Goi pick up one of thos $10 handheld microscopes at Radioshack you need to check the coloring of the trichomes.. They look close to me.. But without the microscope its a crap shoot

Thanks...

Will check trichromes, although Ive heard that some strains don't turn amber.

Hopefully either way there will be a noticeable color difference...from what I can see now, the trichromes are cloudy

thanks guys for the advice. Plants are looking frosty all over, every day theyre getting more tri's it looks like...

The middle plant (the 1st one to flower, by about a week) has a few tasty-looking buds that are over 90% brown hairs. (See third pic.)

Im going to pick one bud to test this weekend ..Anyone know of a quick cure method (2-3 days or less)?

(Damn its hard to wait..)

I think i have heard fdd say time and time again that when 90% of your hairs are brown you are ready... At least i think it was fdd... ??

Any hoo... Look in the grow faq for water curing... I think it is a week long process... You need a food dehydrator...

Good luck...

OK I read some of the posts on quick drying methods. Dont look too good. Any temp abov e 90F might degrade the THC apparently. Just want to test out a bud, need it to dry in 2-3 days, see if the high is what i want.
.

But...I got a solution, maybe. Air is really dry here. I can hang it in closet above radiatior, it will blast it w/ hot air-- hopefully speeding up the air drying process.

seems like this would work, based on what Ive read.

She is what's I is having done, right? Aye!

U is having an oven, yes?...
And then a paper bag?...

Aye! I suspected so!

Ok, me having done this now:

1. Letting her go overnight once or twice, minding the light.
Now she no more juicy right , she is more papery.

2. putting on plate (so as not to feel any burning);
putting plate in bag; putting bag over oven vent.

3. now I cranked them dial up for me oven, until in
bag to me she feels "very warm" right? Aye.

>> Letting her sit maybe hour. I am't remembering
I think me was baking a pizza at the time, but forget
as I be baked, HA! HAR !

*Now like pulling her from them bag while she be
"very warm" for so as like an hour, ALWAYS AS
KEEPING AN EYE, aye? Right!
So,
Now she be not moisty, now she is mmm crunch crunchy !

peace, narcotics users.

This is what im talking about...

https://www.rollitup.org/view.php?pg=faq&cmd=article&id=434

I would not suggest using high temps to dry... Get a food dehumidifier it will not harm your nuggets... You cant beat 7-9 days for a good quick cure process...

Just putting it in the oven will dry it and you take the chance of vaporizing material AND it will not CURE your product and you will be left with very harsh herbs with all the chloroform chems and junk still in her...

That plant is not any where near to harvest IMO. Check the information from the seed bank, how long do they say it takes to flower. White Widow is not a fast flowering plant. I run mine closer to 12 weeks than 8. I left my camera in the car so it has to warm up before I can give you a close up of a 10 week flowering bud. I don't know how much you can tell form this first picture, probably can't see it's Crystal all the way down the stem and only 1/2 mature. It needs to fill in the spaces. Here's a top at 10 weeks, and 6 weeks. Please wait a little longer. VV

thanks for the input. First time through..Plenty of mistakes of course.

Might try the paper bag thing to get the sample I picked to taste and smell a little better. I picked the earliest maturing one off, just to get a better sense of how things would be at this point.

I'm sure the high will get better if I wait to harvest...DOnt want couch lock though. About 10 days maybe. Ill post pics then.

good luck with all of your grows...

You can perform an unsceintific test of the bud. Jorge explained it in his book. The fastest way to do this is your microwave. Mine is fairly high watts, 15 second, take it out , fluff a little, 10 seconds more and out. Let it sit for 15 min or so, chop and smoke. It will be a little harsh compared to dried, cured bud. I uhh.. wouldn't do a whole crop that way. VV

nwwgrower,
great looking plants!!! I would let them go a little longer myself. Also, IMO I would not try the oven or microwave to dry them. You invested a lot of time in growing to this point to take a shortcut just short of the finish line. I know it's tough to wait for something that looks so good but in the end you will be glad you waited the few additional days to dry the bud the natural way.bongsmilie

couldnt get ahold of a microscope. Can anyone take a look at these attached photos and let me know if I can harvest this week?

These photos were taken yesterday. this weekend will be 9 weeks flowering. seed bank says 7-9. about 70-80% of the hairs are brown.

I thought I could spot a few amber tri's here and there with the digital camera, but so hard to tell.

once again I really appreciate the help. so far Ive gotten feedback ranging from a few days to a few weeks...
