nup no benefit. roots just are transportation highways for food and water. and thats all you will ever get out of them. i have heard of people leaving the harvested plants with bare roots still attached in a bucket of water while drying, just to slow the process down. but i wouldnt bother.

i never done that but i think it's related to if you flip you plant up side down so all the thc goes into the buds which is a myth so if you include the roots the thc from there would also go .(no thc in the roots)
i don't think there is any benfit other then you could get some extra stem so you can add it to your batch to weight it down when selling
from my veiw no benfit waste of time endless selling and trying to make as much money as possible.if you were to try to sell for the most money youwould just badly cure so moisture is still there to add weight

If you do, give them a good rinse! I think it promotes a more even drying out and eventually a superior cured finish. It's how I dry all my herbs! Whole plant is best. Get as much root as you can, and clean/rinse them good. Hang the plant outside down in a cool dark place with low humidity.

I suggest a dehumidifier to move air and keep it dry. If it goes below 30% RH, you might have to use another source of air movement(mine turns itself off at 30%... the minimum setting). This helps prevent rot.

The only upside of doing it is slowing the drying down by leaving more plant to dry out. i.e. the root system.

Sounds messy though if in soil, and seems like a waste of extra effort. IMO

Not sure about leaving the roots, but I am at least gonna hang the whole plant next time to slow down the drying process. Last (first) time the humidity was so low, my buds dried in less than 3 days to almost crispy. Granted, they were not so tight airy buds, but they still have the hay smell but its getting better with time. But yeah, roots have no THC but it seems like they can extend your drying time.
