ive just done it all at once an trimed all the fans upsept from the new fan leafs,i dont have to stress my plants now at all :) all at least 70 bud sites are geting the full light now and not shadowed, some people disagree but this method could also give you 20% more in the end,,im only learning
Are you talking about pruning your fan leaves? If so I've cut 3 sets so far off mine and I've noticed the limbs under them seem to grow alot faster than they did before I cut the fan leaves.

I had a question as well. I planted my seeds directly into the soil medium for germination, and I made sure the soil was very moist. The soil I am using is supposed to have good water retention as well. The question is: should I go back soon and give the seeds more moisture? Originally I was planning on going back about a week from today, but if giving the seeds more moisture increases the germination rate, I'm willing to make the drive.

Thank you!
hi what soil, food & nutsdo u use

i am a new grower and new to the site and had a question. One of my 4 day old plants has a bit of burning on the end the leaves. I am using organic miracle grow with perlite for my soil and after they germed i put them in peat pots. I am having to water 2-3 times a day because the soil is getting VERY dry and im wondering if this could be the cause to the yellowing leaves and if not what other possiblities it could be and what can i do to save the plant from dying or this happening to the rest of them. i am a noob and any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also i am using 10 27 watt cfl 6500k and they are about 4 inches above plants. thanks in advance

take a chill pill with the watering and you'll probably be alright.

the problem is the soil is so crunchy and dry i dont want to water so much but i have to with how dry they are getting. do you think the peat pots could be sucking the moisture from the soil and this is why they are so dry so often because i honestly dont think im over watering i was thinking under watering as stupid as it sounds??

can anybody also tell me if miracale grow bloom buster is any good if not what you recomend

is this bloom buster a nutrient

and what sort of food do i give it if any
I'm about to use it as soon as my plant shows signs of flowering. I've used mg gengeral pupose flpant food through veg but I think it was too hot for it. If used in the right dose I'm sure it will work just fine. Someone a bit more experienced could help us out alot more.

Dumb question, but how should i set up the lights for my pc grow? I've read some places to just take the cord out of a lamp and use that as the lighting, but how do i set it up so i can plug the lights directly into a powerbar? There's probably an adapter or something but i can't seem to find them.

Yea, it's a nutrient and it's pretty heavy, 15-30-15, so you only want to
use it in like 1-3 mL per gallon.

As far as good? It will do the job, but its not exactly made for use on products
which we ingest (eat/smoke). It is a chemical fertilizer to the max, made for
flowers and gardens.

hey all, got some ladies on day 58 of bloom, and startin flushin 2 days ago due to some time constraints.

How long can they sustain w/ out any nutes (hydro)?

Thinkin bout lettin 'em go a little longer than a week (maybe all the way to 70 days) to try & get some more milky goodness, don't think I'll have time to go all amber for sure though.

any opinions'd be great.

thx

Venting my room is a bit tricky... I have no experience with it, and I can't find any detailed guides.

Here's a picture. Closet & Shower room will be the growspace, unless there's a better way because I still need to shower everyday.
I can't use the AC because that means higher electricity bill. I think central AC uses like 3k-4k watts. If i were to suddenly turn that on 24/7 combined with 600-1k watt HPS i'm gonna be red flagged

room.jpg

I need 2 rooms, one for vegging, one for flowering

The numbers mean the parts I could seal up with a tent material or something, but I'm not sure if I should seal or how to get fresh air in.

First option:
1) Friend suggested I could pull in air from the bathroom window and overpressurize the room, thus expelling air out from the patio sceen via carbonfilter panels.
2) My idea, seal #2 and pull in air from the bathroom window, and vent out through bathroom fan (but my friend said that it would be difficult to force the air upwards or something.. don't quite get it.

Closet space = 7 x 7 x 10 (for flowering? Thing is the closet is so roomy and has shelves, almost seems like a waste just for flowering a few plants, but it's the only room capable of 12/12 or complete darkness)

Shower room (for vegging) slightly bigger than closet.
+Carbon filter on bathroom fan/exhaust which is right above the grow-space
(I'm not sure how strong the bathroom fan is but it doesn't keep the mirrors from fogging during a shower)
+Carbon filter on window screen

Do I have to go through all this trouble? I thought opening a window (with a carbon filter) would be good enough for air exchange

The other problem is that there will be humidity in the vege room because I use the shower.

How should I setup my ventilation efficiently?

well, you kno i jus transplanted my babes a week ago, theyre in miracle gro organic choice garden soil, with added perlite, bone meal, blood meal, and lime... now the leaves are turning brown n drying up. have 4 75w flouro grow lights, theyre in a 2x3x4 box with a 4 inch fan suckn air out the window and another 4 incher inside the box to keep air moving. im so scared im gonna lose them... could it be too much nitrogen?? i added about 1/2 cup each of the blood n bone meal to a 1 cu ft bag o soil. and two small spoons of the dolomite... mixed it in with the entire bag before i put anythin in the pots. o n the white stuff is ortho ecosense 3-in-1 rose and flower care, supposed to control bugs and fungal diseases

New to growing and my babies are getting ready to germinate.

I'm broke and need lighting. Going to do cfl's for my first crop and wondering can I use cfl's from Lowe's/HomeDepot? Or do I need true 'grow' cfl's from a grow shop. Also, thinking about making my own cfl setup any tips of doing that? This part is really confusing me, should I be more concerned with watts or lumens? If lumens is 2,500 lumen per sq ft ok?

I have read and re-read and now I'm more confused than ever.
