Why are my buds doing this?

But if that was the case wouldn't more of the plant be affected? Also, in the first pic is that plant hermie'n? Or is that normal bud production? Secondly, I don't like the way the hairs are turning red/brown yet the trichs aren't changing color. Being that is my first attempt at growing, I don't know if getting nervous about normal plant growth?

What's the humidity like your grow room? It looks like you might have some mold on your buds. It starts on the inside and by the time you see it on the outside, the bud is mostly eaten up by mold. I had a bit of this on my first grow and it really sucks. Try smelling the buds to see if anything smells off or funky. Try to look inside the bud without breaking it if you can see any grey mold. If it looks like the bud is rotting, cut it off or it will contaminate your other buds and do whatever you can (ventilation, dehumidifier etc.) to keep the humidity down....

That would be my best guess. Doesn't look like a hermie though as far as I can tell. Don't worry about the trichs until you get to the harvest window. Some plants will look ripe at first glance, but have clear trichomes. It really depends on the plant.

The humidity is below 40% all the time and the temp doesn't go above 85 with the lights on. It doesn't smell funky or moldy. At first I thought it due to it being too close to the lights. Then I thought it was some kind of nute burn. I've been playing close attention to it and it isn't spreading. Being that isn't ideal bud growth I will cut it off when the lights come back on.
