Why do Republicans suck?

The worst part is the representative part of our republic is out of balance. There needs to be more senate votes for states with larger populations. Gerrymandered districts need to be eliminated at lower levels.
The problem with "the right" is they are too dumb and mean to want anything good. They will stick together.
The problem with "the left" is letting the perfect be the enemy the good.

The problem with what “you’re saying” is the implication that there is “the left” currently operating. Provide one example of a left political issue being implemented in the USA.

I dont care about people calling themselves left or right anymore, that's somewhat arbitrary and based upon region. It's if you believe in facts, that's my new line. As long as we can have a common understanding of the world we can work it out.

You are the person I was referring to apparently. We have a left and an even more left. The left has support and can win some elections. The more left is pie in the sky and too idealistic. Which is admirable, just impractical. The more left doesn't have enough support for its ideas to win elections. It is called impotence. We have Biden as pres. That is the left. The more left has a few mayors and maybe a state rep or three. No senate votes even. Wait....bernie? A shill. Same as trump, but working the other side for his grifting. Now if the more left can gather support, then maybe the left could feel easier about voting more left. Until it gets to that point, however, a vote outside the Dem party is a vote that helps the right win. A la Herr trumpf winning bc of votes being split on the left. The right sticks together. Idiot-illogical cement.
I am from OK. Here, I am a flaming liberal. In other places I am a moderate. In other circles, I am quite conservative. Life is funny.
Examples of left politics today? Biden is in office. The Jl voting act, freedom to vote act. We aren't declaring open hunting season on black and Hispanic people. Vaccine mandates. There would be more with a more accurate representation of the left voting power. The right has fewer voting people, but the same amount of federal votes. It is lopsided representation.

No. There is no “even more left”. It is a fever dream of Repugs. You are describing center politics. Our entire political stage has been dragged two full clicks to the right over the past 50 years.

We only had 10 deaths from the last polar vortex here in Michigan.
only 10, that's still horrible but Michigan is more prepared for things like that. Texas's wasn't....the really screwed up part was Ercot and the Govonor knew bout this was gonna happen weeks before it hit, and they did nothing to prepare for it...everyone basically just sat on they're hands and waiting it out.......even fuck nut Cruz left the state....that prick...

That's probably because only poor people and minorities died, they don't matter to the GOP.

There is, they just don't have many votes. Many have been arrested of a felony and are being punished for far too long relative to crime with being unable to vote, others are jaded/burnt out/non believers and unwilling to vote.
Center is relative. This is a dynamic process.
I agree with you on the latter. Nothing happens in a vacuum. I think it has been reactionary. We are not in as much control of our minds and behaviors as we like to believe. I question free will at all. Maybe we feel like we do without a choice.
The politics of us monkeys is really fun to watch. Here we are, there we go. No one else gives a shit about what we thought. Probably thought we were idiots. And with enough time, question our very ability to have cognitive thought. Time conquers all. We are chewed up and our bones ground to dust.
We all suck in our own way. I don't think we have to worry about it for too much longer anyway.
Love you. Hope we all have a good one while we still can. :peace:

It impresses me that here, social democrats are being called socialists or, even less hilariously, Communists.

I’ve traveled in central Europe where social democrats are the de facto political center. Their cities and trains are new and shiny, and they work. This country could use more of that.

Sorry, but those aren’t “left”, political or otherwise.

Biden is not a “leftist” by any measure: he is not anti-capitalist, he is not pro-socialist.

Voting rights are not a “left” issue (not economic in nature), and preventing minorities from restricting access to the polls is “liberal” (liberty-seeking), whereas restricting citizens’ access to voting is very much a “conservative” (authority-seeking) game plan.

Not hunting racial/ethnic minorities is not a “left” issue, either, but it is “liberal” (equal access to life/liberty/pursuit of happiness)…but that hunt happens all the time, and has been happening for my entire 70+ years…we largely delegate it to the police, though, these days (authority).

Vaccine mandates? Really? Public health has been within the authority of virtually every government, ever (not saying they acted well), and it’s not about socialism v capitalism. Not even remotely left: if anything, it’s as basic as roads and bridges You’d think NO government ANYWHERE was *ever* justified in defending their nation unless it involved a war. Personally, I don’t think war is a great idea.

You are right about voting power: GOP has been running this country since Reagan, frequently from the minority, and they’re as focused on restricting the power of majority voters as they are on packing the courts with extreme authoritarian and anti-socialist ideologues - they have been this whole time. They’ve been playing a crooked game for more than 40 years, and the Dems refused to see the obvious in front of them (it’s why ‘the GOP base’ thinks “liberals are stupid”). But…if as you suggest, preserving and protecting voting rights is NOT A CONSERVATIVE ISSUE, why aren’t YOU on the LEFT (as you imagine it)? Or do you approve of the so-called ‘right’-wing war on voting?
