Why do the preflowers on my mother plant have trichomes? pics posted!!

the preflowers (calyxes) on my small mother plant are covered with trichomes. why is this? the plant gets 24 hrs of light so i know its not flowering. is this a good or bad thing?

It is normal and indicative of a healthy female, also indicative of the potential for flowering. Not unusual, but not bad either ;).
