the taste buds on the tongue change their sensitivity depending on temperature..
that's why a hot coke/soda would taste like shit but if it's cold it's another thing
so the hot smoke probably allow us to taste more of the sweet flavors of the weed, but when it's cold sweet sensitivity decreases and the more bitter flavors come out
