black widow....what do you mean by popping all seeds and loof for the gem pheno? this is my first grow so im still learning.Mr. nice is a breeding line. if you want real genetics you need regs. fems are actually reverse pollinated hermaphrodites. guaranteed female but has hermie in the genetics. i'd advise popping all your seeds and to look for the gem pheno instead of popping them gradually. what did you have your eye on?

That is a great strain, in fact one of the best. However you are going to have to germinate several and cross your fingers for a female. If you want a feminized seed that is comparable to Black Widow go with Dutch Passion's White Widow.black widow....what do you mean by popping all seeds and loof for the gem pheno? this is my first grow so im still learning.
he means germ the whole pack of beans, with mr nice that would mean germing 18, which i think is a lil over kill honestly, and then picking the one or two that have the best characteristics that you're looking for, whether that be potency, yield, tricome production, taste, etc, etc, or a combo of these, and taking that one or two that you really like and keeping them for mom's and using them to take clones off of to continue to grow the same plant with the characteristics that you like over and over and ....black widow....what do you mean by popping all seeds and loof for the gem pheno? this is my first grow so im still learning.
so do i have to make clones of each plant regaurdless if i know its a female or male.....then force clones to flower....so they show there sex....then once i kill males....take clones off the confirmed females....and wait to see which has best phenohe means germ the whole pack of beans, with mr nice that would mean germing 18, which i think is a lil over kill honestly, and then picking the one or two that have the best characteristics that you're looking for, whether that be potency, yield, tricome production, taste, etc, etc, or a combo of these, and taking that one or two that you really like and keeping them for mom's and using them to take clones off of to continue to grow the same plant with the characteristics that you like over and over and ....
if you only germ one or two seeds out of a whole pack, the chances of finding that keeper mom you're looking for go down obviously..
well pop all the seeds, take a clone off and label it. grow out the whole batch, eliminate the males. find the true white widow you feel is the best for your needs(might be a few). dispose of other clones, grow ur medsso do i have to make clones of each plant regaurdless if i know its a female or male.....then force clones to flower....so they show there sex....then once i kill males....take clones off the confirmed females....and wait to see which has best pheno
Some breeders, Mr. Nice included, think that plants from feminized seeds aren't as strong as ordinary ones, and that house is all about max quality.I was gonna order some beans from them....and noticed they just have regular. Anyone know why? just curious. is there a bennefit from getting regular over female?
very informative! thanksSome breeders, Mr. Nice included, think that plants from feminized seeds aren't as strong as ordinary ones, and that house is all about max quality.
As a matter of practice, creating feminized seeds from the various seed lines involves more than doubling the seed maintenance work per strain, including requiring twice the breeding space. Its not worth it unless there is a strong demand for them.
If you're buying from Mr. Nice you're probably after the best genetics possible, and if so, not only will you probably be willing to cull out a few tiny male plants, but you may even WANT them for breeding stock.
Personally, I wouldn't buy femmed seeds from that source. . .if I'm buying anything from Mr. Nice, including (and especially) his "Black Widow", I'd *want* males so I can generate more seeds or more easily cross with other plants!
Also, I believe Mr. Nice actually has offered limited runs of fem seeds on its auction site, so its certainly NOT because they don't know how to create them!
