i have yet to hear a sustainable argument of how it is a threat to the 'sanctity of marriage'.
all people can think of to support their claim is their own religion, which expresses religious intolerance as well.

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Sounds fair to me! I have been married twice, although I absolutely love the idea....it seems they did not agree. When I was growing up in the 70's and 80's, the most commonly played commercial during daytime tv was the "$79 budget divorce kit"
I think these religious zealots should spend their time trying to actually sanctify the 50-60% of hetero church marriages that end in divorce and the shattered lives of children, rather than trying to keep others from an attempt at happiness. their is nothing sanctified, holy or godly about a contract that can be eliminated due to immediate short term unhappiness.
Anybody ought to be able to marry who they choose...personally I do not care if you shove gerbils up your ass as long as you do not hurt more than a couple of gerbils (they are kinda lame pets...might as well!)
HOWEVER! Straight/Homo/Black/White/Green or Polka dotted in order to raise children....a simple DMV type written and practical exam might not be a bad idea...or even a tax/licensing fee
I absolutely understand that if such restrictions were put on parenting...my daughter would probably have a better dad or two, and her mother would have been sterilized!
To have hate generated by an entire religion which was plagiarized and copied near word for word from the ancient egyptians is such an unfortunate situation.
