Why is environmentalism a one sided issue

I am an independant conservative, and I support any/all production of energy. I believe that conservatives get the rap for being anti-environmentalist, and I don't see why that is so. I believe that America should create the energy that it uses, and I believe having any dependence on a foreign source is dangerous. I guess the main difference in liberal/conservative beliefs is that liberals want the government to control energy, and tax those that go over a certain amount. They also believe that we need to pay the world for the "greenhouse gases" we create. Conservatives believe, well atleast I believe that the private sector and individuals should choose what kind of energy they use. That government shouldn't force anybody or limit anybody's use of energy. That citizens can create great new energy sources without the interference of government, and without additional taxes imposed by the government.

with the current bunch in office, good luck with that.:cuss:

if the 2010 elections continue to shape up like they appear to be now, there is a better chance of this happening. there is a lot of ground that needs to be covered first. getting rid of the enviro nazi regulations will be tough in some areas. but if/when rolling blackouts and stuff start happening the people will once again rise up. i am very optomistic about the future but i think we are in for some really tough times in the very near future.

It's funny how we have oil reserves in America and off of our shores, yet the one's complaining about our foreign oil addiction won't allow us to drill. Why not take advantage of the resources we were blessed with, instead of complaining about it.

EGG-FUCKING-XACTLY!!

their whole argument is completely insane. take the environment for instance. fuckers here write articles in the paper about saving and planting trees. then the same asshole, and i mean literally the same person, is responsible for bringing in 70 fucking windmills. windmills that take about 5 acres of trees off the mountian so you can build them. plus, the veiw of the mountains is a fucking disaster. windmills sticking out all over the place. its completely fucking assinine.

The environmental movement has been hijacked. All the good ppl have left those fields. It's now a "soft" science. Without political pressure, it is an empty vessel now.
