Oh I figured you meant a pound. If you were getting 1.5oz off a 1000w set up I might have to wonder :P

I average about a QP every 6 weeks off these CFLs. You can get some good yields if you know how to work the strain and plan properly.
i meant 1 and a half pounds yes. however i also burn co2 and that helps.

I got 10oz off of that one plant, I got 6oz from the twin heads from one is what I meant. I had 8 of them growing under a 600wat hps, So I did ok lol I have it all in my blog from seed on up to flower

I did c02 last time too, they seemed to love it in moderation of course. The first time I nearly smothered them in the stuff! Live and learn, but read RIU blogs first to avoid killing your shit! LOL

It can be done cheaply as well, I have a friend who re fills fire extinguishers and paint ball tanks. He fills up a five gallon pony tank, I just crack it open slightly behind a fan. No controllers or anything, after a small learning curve I was able to really nail it

Agreed. I've had this cut for almost 6 or 7 years... before the "Kush craze" really exploded.

I feel so bad calling it "Og Kush" these days I use a different name when donating it
Seriously? 6 or 7 years? Before the Kush craze started? OG was popular in Cali in the early 90's.

How can you not know that the OG craze was around way before you had a cut? The information on OG presented in this thread is terrible. OG wasn't created on the East Coast. It was a product of multiple growers who were a part of Overgrow....the best grow forum in the history of cannabis horticulture. Overgrow has been the creed of the legalization movement for decades.

OG stands for OVERGROW. It was a combination of genetics from growers on that forum who went underground after Overgrow was shut down in 2006. That's why we don't know the names of the breeders involved in the creation of it. It's because those guys don't want us to know their names.

OG Kush is Chem Dawg, if it is real. The strain was absconded from the east coast and re named for popularity. The only reason it is more expensive is the name at this point. Once a strain gets named in several pop rap songs the price will undoubtedly go up 10$/gram or so. Good idea though, grow a strain, then rap about it. Youll be a rich man.
This is the type of bad information sources like High Times provides. Truth is....we don't know what OG is because the guys who were originally involved in the creation of it aren't talking after the DEA started busting Overgrow affiliates in 2006. They're too afraid to talk.

Chem Dawg may be a part of the genetics, but the truth was lost in 2006 when Overgrow shut down and the original breeders went into hiding. Grow forums have been pure shit since 2006. Overgrow was better than every forum on the internet combined. It's a travesty that it's no longer around. It blew every other source of information away.

No offense, but I was on OverGrow. While yes, we mailed beans to each other, and some of us swapped clones and the best phenos we were working on (I am sure many more in Cali were swapping plants, I was in Tennessee and didn't have that luxury...), there was no super secret strain we (at least any of the groups I swapped/bred with) were mailing around the world for people to work on.

We were happy to share anything and everything.

Yes, "OG Kush" was going around on OverGrow back then... but guess what? So were 70 other strains and phenos. It wasn't some secret project designed by a 20-man think tank.

Just like any other strain, it started as a lucky cross in someone's grow room.

I consider my strain about as bona fide as you can get these days. It hasn't been altered in the 7 years it has been in my possession, and was given to me by someone I have trusted for over a decade. And guess what... even I'm not sure if it's an original "OG Kush"...

Truth is... no one knows anymore. Weed is now legal/decrimed/recreational in so many states, no one is afraid to talk about it anymore. No one is hiding any secrets Leo da Vinci style, and chances are, no one is ever going to know.

But I will say I have smoked Chemdawg, and they do share a lot in common. The plant structure, the smell, and buds... they all share a whole lotta similarities.

But damn dude. No one's too afraid to talk. It's just lost info. It's a great urban legend, and every good strain needs a good story...

Before long genetic analysis will give us a lot of insight into strain origins. like they did with corn
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2012/06/120603191714.htm
And the DEA will focus something else, I hopes, as science progresses.
True, but that still won't tell us the names of the breeders involved, or where we can get a pack of seeds that are the real deal. These guys are out there...chuckling away as they read our speculations and assumptions.

It's just a shame that we live in a world where we can't just discuss cannabis history instead of cannabis rumors. Mostly, I'm just venting at the loss of Overgrow and the replacement of it by numerous grow forums full of threads like this....where it's basically a bunch of threads of questions with ill informed answers. It wasn't always like this. It was a lot better.

That's not to say there isn't good information out there. It's just a lot harder to find nowadays amongst all the riff raff.

OG Kush was around before Overgrow existed.

No, OG Kush wasn't just some lucky cross in a grow room. It was a combination of genetics shared by multiple breeders. These weren't just random growers chucking pollen around. They were botanist who knew their shit.

There are people out there who actually know the names of the breeders involved. Their reluctance to come forward is out of fear of what happened to Overgrow in 2006. Every strain in the world that was bred into existence by growers has a breeder attached to it....except OG. There is a reason for that and it's not "lost info." It's because those breeders saw what the DEA was doing and went underground.

That 2006 raid on Overgrow was only the beginning. The DEA is still rounding up breeders to this day. Gypsy from Nirvana Seeds/ Icmag is in the process of being extradited to the U.S. as we speak. That's the same thing that happened to Mark Emory/ Overgrow in 2006. This is the real reason we don't know the names of the breeders involved in the creation of OG. Chem Dog was busted the year before that.

You don't think that's enough of a reason for the breeders of OG to go underground? It's not that the info has been "lost," but rather hidden by those seeking self preservation.

Stfu and just grow OG the way it has to be grown, PERFECTLY.

I don't want to know its history, as long as I know it's a good strain, the breeder have all my respect!
