will emulsion separate?

So, hypothetically, if i knew a friend that was attempting to make DMT, and he emulsified the crap out of the step with naphtha. Will it separate over time like an emulsion of oil and vinegar or did he waste a batch?

I havent perused the shroomery in years, but im pretty certain there are several steps involved.

I messed about on the erowid for years when i was still into hallucinogenics. These days i have no interest. That site has everything most people should avoid. Mixing poisons should be left to the chemists.

it is possible that there are contaminants in there that will retain water within the solvent and a clear delineation of layers never occurs. They use all sorts of methods from salting to temperature changes to continuous refining and separation funnels....good luck to you.
