I wanted to try my hands at planting and see what I could come up with so I kept some seed from my stack. I made some research first I wanted to plant in soil as it would be the cheapest way and for an experiment I dont really want to spend much. But I was researching more I cam across hydroponics and one looked to be even simpler and cheaper too since I have some items laying around. The Deep Water Culture I have 3 aquarium pumps laying around. I was looking in the garden and I came across a bag of fertilizer in pellet form its AMMONIUM PHOSPATE with Nitrogen (20) Phosphorus (20) the instruction say add 1/3 teaspoon to 1 gallon.
So here is my question or questions I should say;
Can I just add this fertilizer to 1 gallon of water and just use that as my nutrient ?
And if the ph level is too high ill add lemon to bring it down and
wise versa if to low ill add baking soda to bring it up as mentioned here in these sites

instead of using those chemicals like ph down and ph up which I am not really sure where to get from and since I mentioned earlier this is just for fun I dont really want to spend much.
So guys think it will work.
Oh yeah one more question since usually you grow female to get the bud and 60-70% of seeds from a stack are male if I plant a seed and it turns out male can I still smoke it so it wont be a waste of time planting it, do males even have any thc in them, maybe could use the leaf and make butter with it? Or is it a ONLY FEMALE thing only smoke and cook with female mj.
