These are the lights...Is there an advantage to having the ground hooked up? could this case a fire if the ground isn't hooked up to a light like this? Is there a way to wire both of these lights to one plug?
cool man you got some mc cable to wire it with as well thats good. there is no advantage to the ground actually the neutrals all go back to the panel and bond to the grounds in the house so any back feed current gets dispersed into the ground anyway and yes you can wire them to one plug take a piece of that wire and put it in first light and tie black to black white to white then jump it into the other one and tie all three backs together and all three whites together and your good.

Ok sounds like a plan to me, and then wire the one set of wires to the extension cord right? seems easy enough...

Those 48" t8s are awesome!

I vegged four plants under two dual fixtures (6500k daylight bulbs) and they loved it - i kept them hung about 2 inches from the tops though - so maybe use a couple fixtures at the side and a couple at the tops if you have space.

Just run to the hardware store and ask them what you need to wire them. An extension cord should work but kind of expensive when you can just buy bits and pieces for pennies at the hardware store. Your question has been answered over and again here - it will be easier than you suspect. I'm a girl and when I wire isht I'm always shocked I don't shock myself 'cos it seems intimidating but its not--that is if you're not color blind.

You can use the t8s during flower too by switching the bulbs back to 2700k warm bulbs. But I just wound up buying a HID and adding that to my t8s for flower.

ENJOY!

Yea lol thanks for the help though, and I think I have the 6500k (the lights seem blue like) but im going to buy some 2700k in about two weeks along with a 400w hps :) I think the plants I have growing now I'll just keep them vegged so I can plant in the woods near where I live, so this will be fun

Score on the 6500s. You got a good idea there to keep 'em vegged, I'm trying to reveg right now and it's probably taken just as long as if I had vegged and flowered their clones.

Yea thanks :) My plants are loving the light right now, they seem so much healthier now. Is it good to have a 2700k light in there somewhere? I have a little clamp light with 23watt cfl 2700k.

Heres some update pics from what im growing now, in another 4-6 weeks these will be going outside. In about two weeks I'll be ordering some seeds, not sure what kind yet but they will go from start to finish in the tent with flouros and 400 watt hps. Let me know what you think...
The largest one is about two weeks old and it was really slow starting out, The two right next to each other are are about four days old, and the smallest one just popped up today Germinating two more and I think that should be enough (6)...I wonder what kind of yield I'll get out of six plants vegged inside and put out in the nice southern warmth of the spring and summer (when it gets here), and right now im using fish emulsion and in a few weeks Im buying Fox Farms, I will also be LSTing them..

P.S. Sorry about the ishtty pics, my camera wouldn't focus on the plants very well...
