Wooden stakes

do they cause rot? After some thought experiments, I was thinking that wood could promote mold to grow on buds. Anyone have insight?

I have used old redwood stakes. Worked fine. No issues.

.. using Green Bamboo Stakes, no problem

I’ve used some of those cheap wooden skewers from wal mart, they had two sizes.

I saw that the wood is speckled with a black/ dark mold. It isn’t touching my plants.
