The jars I buy are called 'Kilner Jars' ... another popular type is the 'Mason Jar' but any glass jar will work the same.

re cure: it's a bit of a juggling act to get the bud to the perfect dry/cure.

What 'I' do is .. first dry the bud nice by hanging for a few days. It will look quite dry but moisture is hidden deep inside. Then into some jars, I'm trying to bring that extra moisture out so it's even thoughout the bud.

The juggling part comes into it by opening and closing the jars for decreasing periods of time until its at the perfect dry. Then you can leave it more or less hermetically sealed for longer periods of time.

As was already mentioned, care should be taken to NEVER over-dry the bud. Once this happens and your bud has turned to 'super-dry crumble', its impossible to get that moisture* back in. You DO want dry bud but NOT super-dry bud. (if that makes any sense)

edit:
also, different size/shape/density bud will dry at different rates so there is never a rule that will apply to all situations.

Phew ... Just had a 'KILLER' workout to LOUD MUSIC. Skipping, Speedball/bag and shadow boxing, stretches and cardio. .. I feel wrecked but GREAT.

time for a joint,:joint: then some pasta and tuna. :eyesmoke: WOOHOO GANJA SUMMERTIME!

These Lemon Kush are a dud. (for me anyhow)

Started spontaneously flowering. I don't think its auto but I had been pissing about a little with the lighting on the vegging mum.



EDIT:
I'm throwing out ALL my Lemon Kush. .. I really have no interest in her genes at this time. My head has be truly turned by the GDP and I would love to focus my efforts on Mono-cropping but still have to try out my other girls.

Was reading up on some seeds I bought "Skywalker OG"...it appears that 3-lef sets can also be strain driven...looks I'll have me some with this strain based on other growers journals..... can't remember if it's an "OG" trait or the sativa side of the cross.

Some of the bag seed and a few of the good ones I have growing are maturing, how do I know when they are done? like can they be overdone?
I have red hairs on most but some are still white, so I have been cutting off buds and letting the rest of the plant finish.

basically, 'hash' is all the sticky stuff (trichomes) on the plant all collected , then pressed. .. it's really is SUPER potent, even for a LONG time smoker like myself.

For years, I had only smoked the hash&weed available from others, it was never any good and very dirty. Its only now I can appreciate what its supposed to be like. ..

re: harvesting your buds. ... the plants can become 'over-ripe' in a sense. First, You need a cheapo 60x jewellers loupe. (cost about $5).... then you need to have a look at the trichomes to assess their 'ripeness'

Here is a couple pics of my early training.



These pics are from the same branch taken 3-4 days apart. Notice how pulling the branch end down causes the middle growth to explode up. These side branches are what fill the screen. Always pull new growth back under the screen and tuck, rather than weaving through the screen openings. This will make it alot easier to move the branches around as they fill out the scrog.

I also use a combination of LST and the scrog screen for training. Just get some nylon string and duct tape and tie those branch ends down and tape the string to the bucket like this.


I only topped my girls once, but I started out with pretty branchy clones. I aim to get 4 main branches to guide to the outer corners of my screen, and let the side branches fill the spaces in between.

Thanks so much for taking the time to enlighten me as to the ways of scrog, I've done a decent bit of research into scroging but it always seemed to me that i was missing something important and i think you just pointed out to me exactly what it was that i was missing, I've read about lst and seen people incorporate it into scrog but i think i neglected the point of it, which is to make those side branches fill out the screen. It always seemed weird to me the way i was scrogging, it worked out reasonably well with my white russian that had the structure for it, but my blue cheese was a god awful mess with branches tangled every where and buds that didn't have much to them, i think that implementing this technique will greatly improve my ability to fill out the screen efficiently, thanks again for taking the time to enlighten me...

For the first few weeks of my current grow i fed my plants with RO water and i didn't PH at all the results were that the plants didn't grow and had 2 nodes on them by the 3rd week, i was afraid to feed them because they were so small but once i started to PH and fert with a 1/8 tsp of GH grow micro and bloom they started to slowly grow, i am still not sure what exactly caused the stunting, i assumed that because the nutrients were already in the plants the water didn't need to be PHed but i think that the very low ph of RO water possibly locked out the nutrients...

Stoneslacker, I benefitted from that post too, I was not sure how to attach my branches to the scrog, and I thought I had to weave them in too...so you just tuck them under without attaching?

Well I'm happy with the new fan, new flow is better and uses less electricity with the old setup temps were in the 80's now they are in the 70's, that's good with summer coming, I don't want it too hot...

Hey folks.
Ive been out working the garden all day. Got me some nasty red burning skin :( Time to get out the sunscreen.
So later i went on to clean my groow room as it was gettin nasty. It was a hard time gettin my scrog out, but i made it :) Caught a few pics while they were out.
Starting 4th week of flower. Gave em a flower stimulator from cellmax, damn it reeks organic.
And i went to Christiania to get some new hash. 3 different kinds all top notch :D Im gonna make me a wizard mix now, and see if i can get through a movie ;)

I know its not hempy but I'm gonna share anyway. Lol. Just went out scoutin in my woods and found the best spot I could for a mini outdoor med grow. It'll be my first outdoors. Got it all raked out and two holes dug so far. Gotta get my fence up so the deer and rabbits don't medicate before I can. Lol. Gonna do 1 strawberry d-lite from sagarmatha (?) And a cream caramel auto from delicious seeds so far. Might do 1-2 more, havent decided yet. Sittin here watching turkeys walk through the woods by me, just finished a fatty....damn I'm toasted! Thought I'd share part of my day. Good smokin all bongsmilie

Hey hydro, your post reminded me. Does anyone else have problems downloading pics? I have horrible reception in my area and only have my phone and it's almost impossible to upload pics. Thats the only reason I haven't started a journal. What pics I do post can literally take hours (and lots of cussing, threatening my phone and service provider, and smoking) to post.

Im on a shitty connection, so it takes a long time. Sometimes i have to repost cause they get lost in the progres. But 2 weeks and i get fibernet 60/60Mbit Yihaa gon be great.
