thanks Jela......This gal was a leaner from a few weeks old....I been struggling to straighten her up but just gave up the battle....so the leaning is not really due to heavy buds but more due to reaching for more direct sunlight.

So I'm not sure how I will water it if I tie her up, as I typically water, let drain, then return into the base box. If I tie her up I'll have to let the waste water sit in the base-box....which is not ideal.

I am concerned as the buds get bigger they could snap the branch....but I want to wait as long as I can before breaking out the bikini floss :)
Hey ISK - was she from an indoor grow or outdoor? Just curious...

Nice leaning tower ISK! Don't wait too long to stabilize her tho, sucks to see those fat tops snap over.

Who, bikini floss is what you have stuck in your teeth after cunn...shut yo mouth slacker.;-)

Nice to finally see the girls lamopa! Looking good man.

Hydro that snocap looks awesome, and so full for only 5+ weeks. Props man.

Anyone else dealing with 80% humidity right now? It's hell, made me delay my harvest till next week when temps and humidity are tolerable.

yeah, you are right....I need to deal with it now....so here is the start of my action plan, and I'm open to suggestions, ideas, criticism and/or fits of laughter

Make a drain hole in the cashew jar to allow waste water to drain into the plastic shoe box, then make a drain hole in the shoe box so the waste water drains into an open tin foil pan, then I'll use my turkey baster to remove the waste water. This way I can still move the unit around into the sweet spot (direct sunlight) and into the dark room every night.

So I taped bamboo posts to a cardboard box, so now it's time for the bikini floss.....yippee!!! ...I may consider shorter front posts as well

I think its a great idea, im totally new to hempy buckets but i have my 2 gallons in little half rubbermaid totes,2 buckets per tote, then i use a hand siphon pump for empty the excess and waste water... i find it much easier... i used a turkey baster first, but when you want to flush water through, it could feel like an eternity with a turkey baster :), :peace:

I don't flush so that won't be an issue....I also have a mini pump used for a waterfall in bonsai planter, but my drain waste is only about 100ml so I think the baster will be good enough

yeah...I'm happy it turned out decent....may make a few changes as time goes but the fundamentals are working...and it won't be too awkward to move about..

I don' think I'll need to tie up the back side, as they are just not that big....but hopefully in time they will require a bit of support

Depending on the Nutes your using, it changes the color of the water, so the Color PH Tests don't necessarily work.

I was using an Expensive Hanna TRI Meter for a while, and Boy did it SUCK! Floated all over the place, would take forever getting to a number,, I finally threw it against a wall a bought an $80 Oakton Eco Tester along with Proper Storage Solution, and its sure made life easier!! Dont even need to calibrate for a couple of months, and then just do it because I want to use some of the Calibration Solution I have before it goes bad.
I just want to add - I have used a few Hanna Tri-meters in the 3+ years I've been growing and had no problems with mine. Not to dispute your experience with them Rusty, I trust your problem was genuine, I just want to add that I've had no problems with the Hanna meter personally. Peace

Hey everybody Happy Labor Day weekend! So i checked on my seedlings today, almost 4 weeks, i noticed that the on the top of some buckets, some of the perlite has changed to a yellow/greenish color, but only at the top i think. Is this normal, a sign of anything?
Thanks a bunch :weed:

It's just a combination of algae and your nutes staining the perlite. It won't hurt anything, possibly leech a small amount of nutes away. You can use a 1% hydrogen peroxide solution and spray the top of your perlite and it will clean up in a couple days. Make sure it is around 1-3% I think. I just dilute the 3% slightly and it works good.

Alright thats what i was assuming, i noticed that staining after feeding and thought thats what it was. with a further look its really only on my Mazar x White rhino, not the other the C. Kush's, and that strain is a darker green then any of the Kush's, is this because of strain variance or i was thinking the nutes are effecting the strains different, but the Ck's stretch more, and grow faster, so i think ill leave the nutes at what i have been until they grow a bit more

I'm interested to see how your Maz x WR turns out, as I am days from harvesting my Maz x GWS and she looks and smells great. I'll post a smoke report here for you.

Its a strain i have never smoked myself, the mazar that is so i am very interested in the cross, white rhino was always a crowd pleaser. I hear nothing but good things about the Mazar strain. I definitely plan on main lining these plants, the method just looks like it rocks, as we talked about before, my slow growth i think has started to grow faster, i guess by the 6th node ill start to get them ready.. thinking about keeping it simple with 4 mains, 4 plants, see how that fills out my room, and reacts to the 600 and take it from there.... i will need help when i start topping and bonding !! LOL thanks stone as always

Any of the hempy crowd using the Boveda humidity packs during cure...your thoughts? Maybe ISK can relate based on his cigar stash. I just ordered some up thinking it would help some "archived" strains last longer. A looked the other day and found some white mold spec's on some beautiful golden pineapple.

from a cigar perspective...most would consider 69% a bit too high, especially if you live in a high humidity area, but may be okay if you live in Arizona.
many in the world of cigars use Heartfelt Industries...who sell these beads that work extremely well to regulate your environment at 60%, 65% or 70%.

http://www.heartfeltindustries.com/products.asp?cat=60%+Rh+Humidity+Beads edit....scroll down to the bulk 1 pound bags

Alternatively....many claim that silicon kitty litter is the same stuff, and will absorb moisture (and odor) until about 65%, then it will expel the moisture just like the Heartfelt beads, but at a much cheaper cost.
I tried this when drying plants when the humidity is high, it will suck up moisture, just not sure if 2 KG was enough to make a difference.

So in a nut shell, the beads (or silicon kitty litter) will regulate the humidity in an enclosed environment (humidor) to the rated %, as will the Boveda packs, which are typically for small or portable humidors that get opened often.

IMHO, 65% RH is my preference for cigars...... and as for my pot, I like 60-62% RH
