World Of Hempy

I have the GH Flora series. what i had done in the first set of pics was feed with full strength off the Micro/Gro/Bloom...so after figuring it all out i was able to get things back on track..I started using the lucas formula on them.. the second set of pics is all the new growth.. the pics are not that good but the growth is green and thick.. So i think im getting things dialed in.. i have a couple meters coming in the mail. a ppm and a ph meter...once those get here ill be golden...
the reason i asked about the teas is because i was wondering if it would improve flavor....... so i was thinking either mixing hydro nute and compost teas...or waiting until the last month of flower.. flush for a day or two then finish off with compost tea and then flush then harvest..will this improve flavor or anything else? or is it just not worth the time?
I appreciate the info
If you do a run or two without; then try experimenting with the teas, you'll be able to determine if the product you get is improved by the addition a tea.

personally I don't bother. others do.

Also have a question about mixing hydro nutes and compost teas.. Is it ok to do so? What about switching in the mid or a grow or around the last month of flowering? Or would this just cause too many issues?

Wow you burnt those babies, must have gone with nute strength to high from the start. Always wait the first two to three weeks with new seedlings then start on nutes feed at 1/4 strength and gradually increase each week till you get to full strength. Adding a tea is best advised to do at 3/4 to full strength nute feedings. You can also use the lucas formula from start to finish.

I'm going to venture out and say the the gh series alone and having to flush your plants and stress them out for two weeks you will get a maybe decent first hit and then just a smooth flavor-less there out.

While if your were to feed with the gh and supplement weekly with a tea with some different organic ingredients will get you a better flavor through out and all together. I would try and use some bat guanos through out veg and flower. They will store different carbs and sugars through out there life so I try and get as much in there as possible.

That's just me though. lol.

Moe what did you use for nutes ? A dutch company I think I recall or no ?

How big is your bucket, and is there multiple plants in it? Looks like it from the pics, but also looks like they may be struggling to get roots to the rez. I would replant both in smaller cups, let them get their feet under them then put each in a bucket that size once they bounce back.

Also how often are you watering/feeding them? I would use the early veg part of this http://generalhydroponics.com/site/index.php/resources/feeding_schedule/floraduo_drain_to_waste_expert_simple/ right now and use the cal/mag. I also use the florablend which helps promote root and stem health.

Also maybe adjust your ph, I'm not sure what you are running at but I like to keep mine around 6.0 give or take.

Good luck and post us some updates. Peace

So this cross of maui wowie/cali orange x purple elephant turned out to have one best flavors ive ever experienced. Hard to even describe it aside from it sort of taste like it looks. Intense sweet fruity smooth......This plant had smaller buds than most of the rest but they are rock hard and it cropped approx 1.75 ounces which is more than mst of the others. I gave all my cuttings from my seed plants away after i found a hermie and now im really hoping i can get this plant back. It showed no signs of PM when others ggot it ate very heavy and branched//responded to pinching really wwell.....sigh...i need to go see my buddy.securedownload.jpg

Been quiet in here lately.
I think people are 'focusing' on there grows and just waiting for others to post. ... LOL. It's what I was doing for a bit. ... tbh My grow suffered for not coming onto WOH, the thread helps me keep my motivation up, especially if I know I have to post 'result'.

I plan to be more active here.

It looks and sounds great Shiva. .. The sort of pic that will have people online saying 'Damn, What is that?' .. I can see why you want her back, you could take a cutting now and try your luck but its no fun trying to root a piece of bud.

great job man.

I appreciate the help.. I have them both in one bucket.. a 10 ltr bucket.. im not too concerned with the space in the bucket as long as i have plenty of nutes and oxygen everything should be fine..feeding everyday and flushing every few days seems to be working. besides i just want a few tops off of them..i might lst one and lillitop the other just to see wha happens. once i get it right ill grow one at a time and try to grow monsters.... i think they have ht the bottom already. The first set of pics were the first pics i took when i started the grow.. well about a week after i placed them in the bucket..they have been in for a little over 2 weeks...i think..lol. im not keeping track of how old they are too closely...
The second set of pics is better.. lots of thick green new growth...i do need some epsom salt and lime.. I have a couple meters coming in so i can get the ph dialed in better.. i have the drops by GH and from those i read that my ph is about 6....however being as the solution is colored the reading with the drops is always off color.. Right now i am just going with the lucas formula.. i have also noticed the Micro from GH doesnt have Mg and the Gro is only at 0.5 and the Bloom is at 1.5 Mg....so maybe i am having some Mg issues..Ill get some more pics here in the next week.. ill probably take pics every week or so..I appreciate the help...

Ok.. i have some teas i can make out of worm castings, alfalfa meal, and compost soil.. all by lady bug.....pretty good stuff i guess.....i also have molasses and liquid seaweed...now i have nothing but perlite in my bucket..its sterile...nothing organic for the microbes in the tea to feed off of....or does watering everyday take care of that? or do i need some kind of organic material in the bucket for the microbes? or can i just replace them with fresh tea before they die off?? i have also read a couple of people using just molasses and fish emulsion or seaweed...nothing else. but it wasn't weed.. they were growing herbs....
i want to try to keep as much flavor as possible.. the strain i have is blue widow. supposed to be superbly aromatic and flavorful.....

I personally wouldnt use only teas in perlite. .. if I were going down the same route as you, I would apply in the last two weeks.

I have been flushing with seaweed extract solution recently.

I was thinking about the same thing too. i just added some molasses and liquid seaweed with this mornings feeding... if it helps ill keep doing it.. ill probably use teas along with the GH ferts the last few weeks before i flush and harvest...i might not use perlite for my next grow.. some kind of organic medium.....something microbes can feed off of.. but they would still need some kind of oxygen supply as well.. something to figure out for later i guess.. Thanks for the advice

I'm still here...memorial tomorrow....not liking it...just don't want to say goodbye. I am already missing him so much...can't stand to be here alone...too much has happened...the kids wanted me to throw our bed away...I said No that's where I will sleep, they think I need to be taken care of...they want to make me move. I think I need a vacation...maybe next month to Florida to spread his ashes....I promised him I would drop them down I-95, just as he asked.

Hey Moe and fellow WOHer's, been alittle busy with work and out of town trips, Shiva that is one hell of a description on some bud I'd love to try. When I get back home I'll post up some updates to a couple autos I have going (Critical Jack, Somango). Keep up the great work everyone.

Anyone done 100% rockwool hempies? My woman is convinced that perlite gives her a rash. The one issue i could see with 100% rockwool is overwicking from the res....but long as there is O2 in the rockwool would that matter?
