Had some delays come up first it was licence but that's pretty much sorted and ready this week.

Seeds are the bind. Hey in a way good job my choice was seeds as a preference.
This country does not allow cuttings.
Strange how one countries rules are different from the other.

Seeds had to have phyto sanitary certification in UK.
But needed a certificate from Zim.
You can guess both wanted what the other had first.
That finally got sorted.
Looks like the start is around end of first week of August.
Nothing to show yet will update soon as

Today the news was good
We are now licenced to grow in Zimbabwe.

Seeds are a different kettle. With phyto sanitary certification including Fusum and botreius ( excuse if I spelt it wrong.)
Causing a bit of a problem. Though we may have it sorted with a South African seedbank
Hopes are end of the month start up

Work finally got underway today
Having to insulate the system from the heat and bury the tank as much as possible to keep a more constant temperature.
Hopefully we don't hit too many big rocks though that could be a wish to far.
Made up some light rails with 6 X 36 watt LED for each system as light hours top up.
Looks like the start is going to be 1st week of August.

seriously friend, grown from seed is going to get you knoware, way to many variables. but if you had chosen clones, you have as close to close with each system starting point.
1 seed may pop in 2 days and another may take up to say 4 days being genetous.
now clones i could see working. but as has been said allready, its a growth race, best growth rate of system.
so i guess im babnned too?? just re pointing the obvious out go go

Is that NFT in a tube? Nice light setup looks very professional. Do you sell those light rails also?

What are the rules?
Quite happy to talk about them but. Not going to have this thread go into a slating match. BTW as this will be a properly conducted affair.
Any that wishes to try and make it that I will block. (Simples).

On this trial it does not really matter. It's all about quality and yield the man from Bigway tobacco wanted this and it's my preference to use seed.

Have also looked at seed as another way to put money back in the industry.
This is the tobacco company that supplies BAT and imperial tobacco. (Tonnage yes just a little bit)
How much talk is there of tobacco companies
Wanting to get into the cannabis industry cos there market is dying?
So if the seed route is viable look at what could be done.
Baccy companies could feature that year's cup winners
What an exclusive prize added to the cup
Ok they will have to produce a huge amount of seeds but that's not hard and it would make them millionaires in a short space of time.

Can you imagine buying a pack of 20 prerolls of northern lights say.
You may not but there's many that will.

Had notice been available mother's could have been raised but with the timescale it would not have been possible.
If another wanted to use the equipment there welcome to use cuttings and if it was in a country that states cuttings only it's not really a problem
They can use cuttings.
I want to make sure I understand this correctly.
Is this study financially backed by big tobacco?
Is this study a means too facilitate a move by Bigway into the cannabis market? And into Zimbabwe?

This project is financed by Quantum
Bigway is already in the tobacco market and supply BAT and imperial tobacco
Will the tobacco companies have interest maybe maybe not. There is synthetic cannabis @ 4 cents a gram coming onto the market and hemp at cheap rates probably around the same figure. So likely hood of tobacco companies taking @ 1.5 bucks a gram probably unlikely.
This is Quantum putting something into Africa
Rather than take it out.

Come on Harry you should know that using seed for controlled test isn't any use, out of 8 seeds 2 produced bud not worth weighing (seriously) 5 produced 4/4.5oz and 1 produced 8oz.
Clones are required to test one system/set up against another.
Everybody has seed. Rules by government in Zimbabwe state cuttings are not allowed.

Yes I know there is a variable but we all have variables
So suck it and see

One thing was uncovered in our meeting today.
We are research licensed to collect original landrace seeds
Plans are being made to take a trip to visit the Tonga tribe there landrace goes back generations and is used in there rituals
Apparently it's a good distance and could be a safari.
