looks ok to me, you'd be able to grow 4 medium to large-sized plants. kinda reminds me of the design topled uses, but I think theirs is a 3w. haven't used vipars, but at 1000w that thing's going to be bright as fk.

From what I understand these are currently their newer models that you won't see on their website. I emailed them a day or two ago to ask about it, and he said its currently under development. I think that once the website is up and I can compare their products a little easier, I will probably place an order. By then a few people may have some journals up. The biggest problem is this is a pain in the ass to google. All I have is Vipar 900W. There's no model name or anything like that.

Looks the like Topled reflector series( vipar manufacturer??idk),

http://www.topledgrowlight.com/reflector-led-grow-light-192x3w.html#.U95fguNdUSY I'm guessing vipar is using the same cheap chinese encapsulated leds to hit the similar selling/price point.

Groer used it on two runs(?) and said that it vegged well, but flowering was lacking(airy) and dumped them for the 315w cmh fixture.............which is doing a waaaaaay better job form the pic comparisons btw:)

Both the Vipar's actually produce a little more light than the Mars II, but as for the spectrum I'm unsure. Both do use bridgelux LED's aswell so I'm not sure what to think

OK so there's:
http://evergrowlighting.com/
Who Are:
Shenzhen Sanxinbao Semiconductor Lighting Co., Ltd

Now their website hasn't been changed in a while but as you see according to the website they don't seem to make many of the models available from Vipar's Ebay store but this does appear to be one they would make:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/VIPAR-5W-LED-Series-C3X3-675W-LED-Grow-Light-High-Power-Full-Spectrum-Veg-Bloom-/121325647198

That's the only model of VIPAR I would get just because of the Evergrow connection, who is the one company in China folks around here do have a bit of a clue about when it comes to quality.

So let's check out Evergrows Alibaba.com page which has been updated recently:
http://sanxinbao.en.alibaba.com/productgrouplist-213190802/LED_Grow_Lights.html
And here's their 2014 model
http://sanxinbao.en.alibaba.com/product/2006524865-212879976/Indoor_Greenhouse_600watt_Led_Lighting_for_Growing.html

Again the panels, are very different than the one's on VIPAR's various sites. I would be more inclined to agree with PSU and say another company also makes panels for VIPAR or at least VIPAR USA, and to be a bit wary of those panels but again I could be wrong but as a former VIPAR owner I have always been inclined to check them out to see if they're going to make the next step. I always liked VIPAR UK, VIPAR USA I've been a bit hesitant of because of all the panels they make, while VIPAR UK only sells a few models.

So if you're going to buy a NOVA, you should be OK but you can still do better IMHO. If you stray from the NOVA line you may not be getting something from the Evergrow factory and at that point you might as well as get the LG/Top to save $.

They're one in the same. I emailed the ViparUK rep and asked about the USA page just to see if it was official or not. They offer the same warranty and sell the same lights, its just that the UK site is way out of date. They're currently in the process of redoing the site. I asked what the ETA was and am awaiting a response. I would like to use the website as a better comparison of everything they offer than what's presented to me by Ebay.

oh and there's an evergrow aquarium light on the ebay site so perhaps there is some sort of connection. You said you trust that group? It could be a beneficial thing that they're working together in some way.

I talked to the evergrow rep on the website. First they DO not sell direct unless you are on a distributor level. Second the sales rep told me if I wanted to buy one of their lights i would have to contact a distributor to which I asked directly "Who is a distributor ? Vipar? " to which she replied "yes".
So in So many words she told me they make Vipar.
You can take that for what it is..with a grain of salt or whatever. But I have a feeling they make more than one name brand.

And so you know I`m new to this whole world. Well sort of. But I have been doing a lot of research and worked in sheet metal manufacturing for a number of years so I look at the tooling used on both and that is where I am making assumptions from. You may very well be right but I was just stating what I thought I had learned on my own independent of here.

A never before seen plane of existence. The LED dimension. Yes, I too have traveled it.

I've been taken places that I never dreamed imaginable and never imagined dreamable. Where light was sound and sound was shape and shapes were melting ambiguous flashes of recollected and unconcieved thought merging in helix, twining together into completely lucid hallucination. A state of super consciousness, where even the form of self identity is blasted away, left to reveal nothing but the purest of that which burns within.

To type even one more word about it would be to plummet from an unscalable height while juggling flaming bowling balls in zero gravity.

Okay we've come to the conclusion that we're just buying Evergrow lights. is there anything wrong with that? I guess its now our job to find the cheapest distributor with the best warranty

You can buy direct from Evergrow. Go to Alibaba and tell them your a business person interested in starting a LED business. Ask that person if you can buy a sample. Sample is the magic word or at least was at one time.

Now that I look on the page below, they say you can buy 1 at a time from them. Baba's legit. I've used them and Chronikool owned that place at one time :).

VIPARs history in North America is a bit bizarre. At one time there was a Canadian distributor that sold the VIPAR UK A series panels at ridiculous markups. I mean triple the price. There was a lot of murkiness for a while. Bottom line though. YOU SHOULD ALL BE BUYING AREA 51s, (Hans for the EU gang)!!!!! :).
