WTF have I done wrong?

Growing a few plants at home and everything was awesome till about four weeks into flowering and the leaves around the buds started turning brown and withering, (almost overnight). Also, alot of the foliage started going yellow. I checked the roots, not root rot and the pots are a good size. I have pictures but can't seem to upload just now. Any ideas?
Also, Hi! I am a newbie on this forum and also this is my first try at growing.
Open to suggestions and will post pics asap.

Hey there noobie.

Tell us some more about your setup. What medium. Feedings. Ph of medium or whatever. Lights and how close. Things like that.

You'll gain the ability to upload images and such soon enough.

Uh. Thanks I guess... I'd beg to differ though. I'm still a newbie too. Just that I've got a couple grows under my belt now. Wouldn't have gotten there without help from these guys though. I'm just passing on the bit that I've learned.

Woo hoo. Now we're talking. What about Bobby Z and a few others. Who else wants to get in on the weiner fest?

Planted in the garden and didn't seem to do much so I put them in pots with miracle grow and they took off. I kept watering from the garden hose, (wife is the gardener) and was told to stress them occasionally, so skipped a few watering days but not enough to dry them out. (or so I thought) here are two pictures of what happened.

furthermore regarding setup. as this is my first grow I figured there were so many opinions out there on what to do and alot of them relating to hydroponics i decided to just do the minimum and see what happens then use the experience for next season. figured if I got a couple ounces out of the deal the $10.00 clones would have well paid off. i think this has turned into a $40.00 life lesson. :)

I did the same thing, then I found out, never use time release nutes.
I'm using liquid nutes now. Stinky liquid fish stuff but it works.

It's the miracle grow. It releases the nutrients at the wrong time. Usually nitrogen is last right in flower period. Week 4 of flower is when you start ramping up the ppm for your bloom nutients. Your plant dies cause it was probably getting locked out of the nutients it needed. Look around and pick a brand (doesn't really matter which one) and use liquid nutients in the proper ratios. Check around for other people feed for the same type of product u choose
