WTH did i do? Pic

Soo this is another attempt at a "first grow". Everything has looked good until it hit about 3 weeks and i put a little 10-15-10 into the water to feed. After watering with the nutes twice , some burn showed and i thought i just jumped the gun so i held off on the nutes and went back to water. However it looked like it just kept burning and burning. The picture shows how bad it has gotten, and im confused as to what exactly is going on. These are autos and are budding up, but its slowing down and the leaves are curling and looking shitty. At first i thought mabey i put too much Osmocote plant food in the medium, but then i also think no because i didnt see any burning or yellowing until 3rd week. They looked perfect until then. I already think im gonna have to toss em, but im starting another auto short ryder and an auto AK and neeed advice on what i may have done wrong.

Details:
short ryder feminized
pro mix with osmocote (slow release balls)
18/6 lights, 400w hps

thanks! :bigjoint:

if your medium has nutes in it and your adding nutes..burn...also could be a ph balance...yeppers check your run off

This is where everyones gonna yell at me lol. I just use tap water and was going to buy a ph meter but never did. Like i said everything looked perfect for 3 weeks so i got comfy and said screw it. But yea obviously now thats on my todo list.

Flush it with plain tap water. It can still come around. And being an auto you dont have to mess around with a light schedule change

thats what ive been doing, it just looks like its getting worse. The leafs just keep yellowing, but the bud looks fine, just really slow now.

but if you have been using tap water the whole time i dont think ph is you prob. then...gotta be nute burn..imo
i have a electronic ph tester but went out and got the little kit from the pet store and it works fine. think i paid 5 bucks for it..will do 250 test

just picked up the ph meter. when i put it in the tap water it comes out at 7.2 ish, when i put it in the area of the root system in the pot it comes out at 7.5ish. i think i read it needs to be around high 6? so ill have to go buy something to drop it i guess.

and yea im trying to not water until it really needs it. it all just blows my mind because the taller one is budding up kind of nice actually, yet all the leafs just look like fucking hell.

distilled white vinegar will lower it very well I add 1-2 teaspoons to 5 gallons water or nute water and check the PH again in about 1/2 hour, then make adjustments as your needs require and you'll be fine

mmmmm crispy. Like everyone else said. its nute burn/build up. flush away, my friend. But dont over water!

Just flush and let it sit then do it again and let it dry out for a few days then retest the run off.

sorry to dispute the results with everyone... but that is a compounded issue...

First... "Slight" nute burn... nutes were a bit too heavy... since your flowering, there is also too much Nitrogen in your mix... you want more P and K for bud... your buds are going to come out small and airy without the P and K
Second... Possible Wind Shock... (fan too close?) also apears as burn but only shows on the side of the plant faceing the fan...
Third... Light too close... MAJOR burn... with a nute burn, it starts at the BOTTOM of the plant and affects the TIPS of the leaves... not the ridges... Ridges are a clear sign of heat/light damage...

Not always
only time it shows at the top first... is when the plants are small ... like less than 14 inches... otherwise in veg you'll see the results after the fact... in other words, your plant will outgrow a burn before it even starts to show... so you'll see the lower leaves burned, but top is fine...

well i keep the light 2 feet away. the fan i also try to keep 2 feet away but ill try to move that away on top of adjusting my ph.

thanks everyone bongsmilie
