Yellow spots on seedling.

They are nasty lil shots yellow sticky traps will work but be aware they lay There eggs in the soil/potting mix and when they hatch the larvae will feed on your roots so you will be in trouble if its a big infestation as every gnat
can lay upto 300eggs...
You can get a pesticide you can water through your soil that will kill them they are very common on young seedlings especially in green/hot houses
Ok, thank you very much for your help, I really appreciate it. I believe it is either fungus gnat problems as you say, or possibly downy mildew, but I'm not sure about that. I will be getting a sticky trap and also a pesticide to add to my water and see what happens. Thanks again, I will update here in a few days to show you my results.

Well if it is a mildew problem you should be able to rub it off the leaf with a damp cloth gently or even just ur finger that'. One way to know for sure if it dosent rub off means its been damaged by a sucking insect if it is powdery mildew you will have too look into your humidity and air flow situation..

Alright, then it must be a fungus gnat issue. I already sprayed the one that has the spots all over it and I also put some neem oil on the top layer of the soil of a few of them to kill all of the eggs when/if they hatch. I will keep applying it for a couple weeks and see if the new growth is looking better. I am also buying a sticky trap today to take care of as many adults as I can. Thank you very much for your help, I'll update on the progress.

Hello, I am still rather new at all of this. I started 4 babies from seeds. All 4 are GDP. They are all very healthy and growing very well. They are about 3 weeks old at this point. They are all in FFOF soil. I am using a 400w MH atm for vegging and the temps run about 86*F highs and about 70*F at the low point. Average is about 76*F.

Onto my issue: the one seedling I have pictures of has been displaying small yellow spots on all of the leaves. Two other seedlings have a little bit of the same and the last one shows no signs of it. It started about a week and a half ago. Some of the dots have tiny little black spots around it, which makes it look like possibly moths have been munching on my ladies. The other two that have little spots have the little black dots on every yellow spot, but the one with the most of them has some spots that have no little black spots, it just looks like a discoloration. I have checked all over them with and without a 100x scope and have seen no pests, but I have seen a moth or two get away from me inside the grow tent.

So here are the questions: does this look more like pest damage or more like fungus? If this is pest damage, how do I stop the moths or flies from attacking them? If this is fungus, what do I do? If it is, it has not stunted the growth (compared to the other ones), but should I get rid of it, even though it has not spread to any of my larger plants in the same room?

Any help is greatly appreciated and I would be happy to answer any questions to supply more information. Thank you.

I have been checking daily with a 100x microscope on any speck I see, but I can't find any. I of course will keep checking though. Thanks for the advice. And if I can't find any do you think it is possible they would be hiding so well that I can't find them anywhere, but they could still be there?

place white sheet of paper beneath affected leaf. tap sharply from above. moving specks on white background equals mites.

Haha well you nurture them from a seed and give them love and attention untill they flower and you hack em up and smoke em :-P they are my babies up untill that point heh
Haha yea they are definitely my babies until I grow them up into my ladies. But no worries, I won't love them too much as babies lol, only when they turn 18...inches I mean.

Nah mites won't hide they will just feed and feed on the underside of your leads untill there's nothing left then move on things like whitefly and gnats will eat and fly away and come back for seconds and thirds :-P

Hello, i had the same early signs as you exactly at around 3 weeks old (check my grow journal). I was affraid of mites so i sprayed them, but that didn't do it. They only came back to life when i fed them. I use a liquid fert (something french with npk 7-3-2-and 1 Mg).

Hey thanks for the optimism, I appreciate it. Next time I do a feed I'll give that one a low strength of nutes and see what happens. I just put some more ocean forest soil in there to top it off, so maybe the extra nutes from that will help. Thanks again.

Make sure u start with 1/4 of strength.
Also remember there is the all organic option. I'm wanting to do it on my next grow.
I hope this helps
