Yellowing leaves on newly rooted and transplanted clones TOO MUCH???

I'm a newbie, please go easy on me! I am in the process of reading the entire plant problem section but don't want to lose my babies in the meantime.

Problem: I'm not sure if the yellowing here exceeds the normal. Please put your opinion out there.

Strain and Rooting Method:
I am just setting up a new room and am far from dialed in (or remotely finished). Unfortunately, the clones I ordered came in super early. There are 7 JillyBean clones. They were cloned in rapid rooters and a humidity dome.

When I received them they were extremely rooted already. Several roots over a foot long on most of them. I was concerned with keeping them in the humidity dome too much longer. Possible root rot from a lack of DO or nute deficiency? (I think I read that somewhere) So I moved them!

Transplanted into New System: Since I didn't have everything set up yet. I moved them to a 18 gallon tote and moved my cloner's aeroponic manifold with pump into the tote. They are in 6" net pots filled with hydroton (well rinsed).

  • T5 at about 20" (This should probably be closer. I am away from them for 12 hours at a time and didn't want to learn the hard way that they were to close. I'm easing it in.)
  • Air temp is between 75-83 degrees
  • Humidity is super low. 17% at the moment.
  • I am only turning the pump on for 1 hour twice a day. My timer will be here tomorrow and will be going to 15 minutes on 45 off.
  • No circulating fans yet
  • Water temp was high. 86 when the pump was running. Same as room temp when the pump was off (75-83). I started adding frozen water bottles and the temp quickly drops to high 60's, to low 70's. That was only a day before this picture.
  • RO water
  • PH was 5.9
  • I added nutes to bring the ppm to 280

I will be moving everything to a UCDWC, 6" net pot, 10 gallon totes, HPS setup in the next week or so. I will have a chiller set up on that system.

WHY ALL THE YELLOWING?

They don't look too bad to me, and it sounds like you're doing things right (although I'm a soil guy, myself). It's not unusual for clones to yellow a little while they get settled in.

I noticed you are using RO water. Do you have some source of calcium and magnesium?

I'm not sure yet. I bought a bunch of nutrients from someone and have only just started reading what everything is. I'm going to use Botanicare Pure Blend for this first grow. I should post a list of all of the stuff and ask someone experienced what they would use out of it!

What do you think about transplanting a rooted clone with foot long roots from aeroponic to soil? Will it handle the transplant or should I have done this back when the roots were shorter?

It should handle the transplant, depending on how you do it. Longer roots, better chances. Im in soil and I plant my clones right after they get a little deficiency (usually Fe, N or Mg) from my DIY bubbler. I think it's time to start feeding, or transplant to good soil.
