No ones laughing. Why not spend the extra 5$ and get a higher quality soil?

Wet roots, next time put clear cups in the red so you can see how water migrates in soil.

Perlite is your friend.

The Miracle Grow Performance Organics Container soil is fine to use and is comparable to other brands of soil people use. Unfortunately what you're using definitely isn't that particular product. That looks like their Nature's Care line which is fine for adding organic material to raised beds or for filling planter boxes for flowers. For growing cannabis it's going to cause problems which you have found out.
