Young plant question

I have know you can't tell the sex of a plant till you have it in the flowering stage. So, my plant is 6 Inches tall, I was wondering what the little things are between the stem and the branches,. Also, is my first set of "pot" leafs only going to grow three leaves?
 
the little things between the stem and the branch sound like buds (or pollen sacks), you may have an auto-flowering strain
 
No dude there not buds or pollen sacks. they look like 4 little hairs they grow with every node. they are normal. and your leaves will get more leaflets as it grows taller. usually a single leaflet then 3 then 5 then 5 agian then 7 maybe 7 agian then 9. some will go up to 11 and 13 leaflets.
 
when its about 6 to 8 weeks in to vegg and has branches that have at least 2 or 3 leaf sets. you really want to wait till it starts showing sex so you dont clone a male. check out my Indica Grow i have pics on my profile.

It's just the start of new growth, man. =D

Or you could take clones and just label what plant they came off of. Then when the mothers reveal their sex; You could destroy or keep the clones depending if it's a male or female.

assuming you have a separte seedling area in you grow room.
