Illinois medical marijuana card wait time

Very happy for you
So I went to Starflower Clinic on 2/10 and paid cash up front for everything. On 2/20 Heartland Security confirmed my application was processed on 2/20. Given these circumstances, does paying cash move things up at all? I did email the state and they do have my app, but they say it's still in process as of 4/01. What's y'alls guess as to when I will have a card in the mail?

Thanks :)
I used them and it took 1/23-4/9 got card

So the taxes are only 2%ish at my location. Look's like there was some decent deals. 280 Oz's. $50 4 gram "flights". Can't see or smell much but it's fun to ask anyone waiting what they prefer. Search instagram with #illinoismedicalmarijuana #illinoisdispensaries #illinoismedicalcannabis to know what you're getting in to. I'm impressed. The staff was profesional and really friendly. Maybe we could create more posts for the IL med page? Hope everyone in January gets their card soon! Overall I think this process will move faster but problems happen.. and some people get screwed(due to system errors?). I feel the wait is a way to discourage people from signing up. But it's worth it. I am much less paranoid knowing what I'm doing is safe and legal. It appears this process will be helping a ton of people.

How long will it take? 77-110 days from the point your app is put in the mailbox.

I just got official word that my card was approved and sent to print, but she couldn’t tell me when it was sent. She said it could take up to 14 days as it’s coming from the east coast.
Update on timeline
Innovative express 1/31/18
State received 2/2/18
Funds charged to my card 2/5/18
Word with approval and card sent to print 4/13/18
Waiting for card, already got the informed delivery for today and it’s not here yet.
I’ve started a new thread under “post card wait times” looking for what is working for people- would love to see some of your thoughts on suggestions as research begins

Update:
App received Jan 12th
Approved March 26th...Issues with server...approval not sent to printer at this time
One millions calls later...Approval finally sent to printer on April 7th
Informed delivery says card will arrive today (4/13)! (One week after sent to printer)
92 days total

Thank you all for your support during this LONG wait time!

Quick question for those of you who have your cards:

When my card eventually arrives will the letter tell me which dispensary I'm registered with? Or is it always set to the one closest to your home address?

You should have put what dispensary you are going to use. On your application you submitted to the state. If you left that blank you might have an issue with your application when they get to it.

Got diagnosed with ptsd started going to therapy. Then i heard i could go to Addison illinois and they had people finger printing a doctor and someone helping with application. Someone from CannaMed OutReach contacted me on facebook saying that if i wanted to come that i could get my card. It was 2 hour drive there and 2 hour drive back. So i drove there Dec 30th with my paperwork of my diagnosis along with my id and proof of residence. I meet with the doctor first then got my finger prints done and then CannaMed Outreach in addison did my application i paid Them via debit card for the 3 year card and they charged me $75 to send my application and helpfill it out and make sure eveeything is correctly done. They told me it would get sent out a few days later so the first week of Jan. I call idph in feb to make sure they got my application and that everything is fine. They tell me all they have is my Doctors paperwork and that they have not received my application. I called CannaMed OutReach and they told me they sent it and that idph is lying and its in there mail room. I tell them they keep telling me its not that they checked and they dont have it. They said if u want to you can come back and we can do another application but said watch and see your application will show up. I then waited a few weeks and called idph to make sure they received app they said again all they have is my doct paperwork. I then call CannaMed Outreach again and they said it was sent. MARCH 1 i get a email saying "
Ma’am,
Your application has been received but it wasn’t until 02/28/2018 that it was received in our office. We are not yet processing application, as we have not gotten to your name in the queue. Your money order will not be cashed UNTIL we start processing your application. Due to the volume of applications received, it will take some time to reach your name on our list. Thank you for being patient." So my application was received 60 days past when it should have been. I then call Cannamed Outreach saying if it was sent on time can you send me proof so i can let them know and maybe speed up my time. i asked them when it was sent and they just wouldnt answer me or would say we are looking into it but that they sent it out on time. I Decide to email the email listed on facebook and right after sending it i get a text back saying this"
"Sorry to inform you but i was told by our doctors idph has launched an investigation into your application. This will further delay things as I told you if you kept contacting them it would. Good luck to you our business with you is finished. please do not contact cannamed Outreach again.
Thank you."

FIRST as far as i knew the doctors were not a part of there company. I never got a letter or anything idph and all my doctors paperwork was fine nothing wrong there. So i call idph they tell me they have not reach my name yet that my application was received feb 28th so that it would be alittle longer i asked if they had my money order they said yes. I asked them if anything was wrong with my application and they said i would get a letter if there was. I then read them the text and they said they never give personal info to anyone even the doctors they would send a letter to me. They said if i didnt get a letter i am okay i just have to wait. From how everyone is getting there cards i should have mine by the end of may. I wanted to tell my story and maybe let people know that doing it electronically would have probably been better for me. Also check who the company is helping you with application. I still am not sure why Cannamed Outreach Sent me that text but i feel it was very wrong and unprofessional.

Jenaenae84, I’m so sorry to hear about what you went thru. When you said you only were charged $75 that kind of was a tip-off that something wasn’t right. I went thru a place in Naperville (about an hour from me) and I was told upfront $350 for the doctor, $100 for fingerprints and another $125 for a 3-year card (Social Security discount). That’s kind of the norm of charges to expect if you want a place to do all the legwork for you...at least from what I found in my research.

It sounds like the doctor/service you went thru are either wildly incompetent or just scammers. Either way, I hope you’re able to get your card in the next month or two.

And yes, to anyone else reading this who hasn’t gone thru the application process yet, do your research on the outfit that helps you out. If they offer electronic submissions, that’s definitely the best way to do it.

Yes,
I went to a clinic in the city, it was $175 for the dr, $135 for background check, finger prints and passport photo and also a $75 for application. They didn’t take cash, just credit or debit card, they put the card number on the form that went to the state and I selected the 3 year amount I think it was $250? So long ago the amounts might be slightly off. They also required a follow up appointment for another $175 before the application went. Maybe the investigation is just your background check? Everyone gets one to make sure you don’t have a record etc.
Sending you positive energy - it should all work out. You have a qualifying condition and documents- it’s true they will send you a letter if they need anything. I think it’s just time before it irons out. I wonder if they have a yelp page? Hope others don’t fall into their clutches.

I believe that today is the correct time to post the timeline of my application...

I was scheduled the last week of January for a routine blood draw for A1C... and had a discussion with the PA that I see about requesting the physician to submit the doctor's portion of the application based on numerous diagnostics in my record... she stated that he would consider my request... at the close of business on Friday, one of the clinic nurses called to tell me that my application was signed and going out in the last mail of the day.

I contacted the fingerprint service that my former employer used, and got an appt scheduled...

I went to a local Walgreens for a passport photo.and a color print of an image of my IL drivers license...

At this point... I began having problems uploading docs to the state website...

So,I purchased a PO money order, and picked up a Priority Mail envelope...

After my fingerprint appt, I walked from the courthouse to the post office, and paid for my package to Priority Mail to Springfield...

From there I found this forum discussion... here is the timeline after mailing.

2/13 mailed package
2/15 tracking stopped moving at second USPS facility in Springfield
2/23 USPS reply via email... image of my Priority Mail at sorter... probably moved to tub of mail for IDPH without delivery scan
3/9 email IDPH and got reply that app was received and will be processed in order of receipt

I checked the USPS inquiry system numerous times but no info regarding money order being cashed...

Today I checked the IPDH online application pages... and I am listed as a Qualifying Patient... no notification of approval or printer.
