1 Bead of light will start photosynthesis and confused your plants, stressing them out, and giving them a HUGE chance to hermie... Light proofing is key!

Update: We increased our nutes to half strength. the plants had some nice new growth this morning so guess they liked the feeding.

and our box is almost light proof but not quite so guess we will have to further investigate light proofing it. here is a picture of our box in the dark with the light on, inside. and one with outside lighting.

oh pics of our first clones, we cut them last night. we made ghetto humidity domes, were working on a better clone setup.

and pic from plant perspective for fun

hey i got the same system, RW + DWC + clay pellets.

QUESTION- how do your rocks stay moist all the way to the surface if they arent touching? bubbles enough to do the trick?? i have my net pots just a single layer of pellets deep.. should i remove some water so its like yours (1/2 above water surface?) PM me if you could

So our clone's RW dried out and they took a turn for the worst. luckly i spotted them and quickly watered them. a few hours later they were perked up again.
I am considering buy a LED to veg our clones. I am thinking this one sounds cool and cheap http://cgi.ebay.com/BRIGHT-18W-225-LED-ALUMINUM-Hydroponic-GROW-LIGHT-Panel_W0QQitemZ310107416195QQihZ021QQcategoryZ42225QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262

anyone suggest a better one in the same price range 30-40$. we are only looking to veg 6-10 clones at a time.

a buddy of mine had a little LED setup and got terrible results, Id stick to cfl's if you are familiar with them already.
we are not looking to flower with the leds only grow clones. we will flower with cfls and perhaps an hps in the future.

.......I haven't used the led's myself but I can say I haven't heard anything to make them look/sound appealing, for anything......:-| I 'd save your $ for an hps and just use the cfl's for veg.

Keep up the great work you guys!:weed:

So the girls look good. It getting really crowded in our grow box. These things have blown up. Should we worry about too much crowding?

so we need a carbon filter or something of the sort. were not sure of the best route to handle this. We have plastic lining for our walls, so mounting a fan is gonna prove difficult. There are a few pics of the structure for reference.

we added a little side lighting as well. oh and our clones aren't gonna make it. We had them in small RW cubes and let them dry out. opps. prob gonna take a few more.

Some ppl may argue this but yes you should worry about crowding. It stresses out the plants and forces them to grow up. On top of the fact that you didnt 100% light proof your room, extra stress is the last thing you need. I just dont want you to run into any sort of hermie situation. Onto the positives, dem are some mighty fine looking plants, so short and bushy, its perfect. The fan leaves are also getting large, allowing them to suck up more light, allowing the roots to drink more and more nutes. Also if you have no fan in there that is a must must. Also what were you looking to get a carbon filter for? I like the side lighting to get into the inner nodes, thats the nice thing about cfls, you can get dem suckers really close.

So we've made some major upgrades to our cab.
1. we mylar'd our box and made hood reflectors
2. were constructing an exhaust fan with carbon filter.

This is going to allow us to start flowering since we can keep the door closed. This will also reflect alot more light having a fourth wall.

So check back for pictures of our new cab.
