No Olympics for Chicago

Obama supported it because his friends stood to gain by it. Chicago didn't want the Olympics, Obama did.

Going over before you know it's a lock is naive. If it was a lock, then the Olympic Committee slapped Obama down a notch. Either way it's a lose/lose proposition.

You can bet your bottom dollar if Chicago got the nod, Obama himself would have grabbed the spotlight. Now that he got the very personal boot, no tit for tat? let's just keep it fair. he blew it, and Chicago is glad he did. I am too. The USA cannot afford to host the games.

Would he have been as interested in "national pride" if say, Dallas or some other city besides Chicago had put the bid in instead? Of course, theres no way to ever know.

Hmm, very good point. I doubt he would have gone "all in" for a city other than Chicago. Well done sir.

How about Obama should be concentrating on winning in Afghanistan?!?! Or how about actually doing something about Iran, or North Korea?!?

No, he's shooting off to Copenhagen to pitch for the USA olympics....

He needs to start being a Commander in Chief.

We're waiting!!!!

Obama was smacked down by his own elitism. Don't blame the Beck for doing his job. If you actually read up on the Chicago story, you will find Obama, cronies, and friends all lined up to make millions while the city of Chicago (who didn't want the games), footing the bill.

The fact that Obama went over there personally is a sign that
A.) He's completely enamored with himself
B.) He thought it was a slam dunk
c.) He is naive and a sloppy politician
D.) He's worn out his welcome in Europe, and elsewhere.
what, you put your comments in outline form to lend some credibility to bullshit? if you are an American, you should be ashamed of your own bad self.

Nonsense. I'm just calling it the way it is.

All of those statements are true.

Obama needs to be a President, instead of ACTING like a President. He still thinks it is some sort of popularity contest. That's over... and like he said... he won.

The President of the United States has far more important things going on than to care if Chicago gets the Olympics in 2016. That's what First Ladies are for.
Being knocked out in the first round was a slap in the face to Obama. he should know better than to set himself up like that. His EGO got in the way. Leave it at home plz.
Obama has met with failure at every turn so far and is damaging our credibility severely overseas.

He better pick up his game.

why would they put the olympics in chitown? obama has spent his first seven months running around the world telling everyone what a terrible place america is.

my favorite part was listening to michelle cry about her old man with ms. whats that, the 100th time she used that tear jerker bullshit in one of her speeches? these goons are idiots, as is being noticed by every leader around the world. the US is in serious trouble.

I think they did too. Hours before the decision was made.... did you see that beach? My Gawd, there was a great horde gathered. Chicago had a center set up with all kinds of colors and concession stands... when I looked arounfd the same time, there was like 3 ppl milling around.

Go RIO!!!!

I'm assuming this is an alternate of choice question. If so, you should have included "E" ... "All of the above."

This is not a loss to America. This is a loss to Chicago thuggery and good-old-boy politics.

So now its Obama's fault???? Good grief...very proud that our President went to give it a shot and at least try to make a pitch for getting the Olympics to America...unlike Bush who did not stand up for getting the Olympics to New York ( but seeing how unpopular he was, he couldn't ).... Good try Obama glad to see you can muti-task.... We will get em next time....
