do u notice much of a diff with Silica? ive never used it but thinking about it
i have never ran without it, so i couldn't tell ya. it is supposed to help with adding weight to plant and i have read that it does strengthen the plants cell walls to help against PM, pests, etc.

Hello fellow CoCo growers, I've come seeking advice. I have just germinated a seed and put it in a 60/40 Coco and perlite mix with a bit of dolomite lime. The only nutrients I have are House and Gardens Coco A + B. Are these nutrients sufficient to grow out a harvest? Thanks for reading.

Don't put lime into coco, it's a ph disaster waiting to happen.

I was hoping the higher pH of my water would off set the tiny amount of lime I top dressed. Tap water is around 6.9 in pH. I will be switching to a good water source soon.

Regardless, thank you for replying!

I grow Coco with House and Garden's entire line. Good stuff and very clean however I suggest you get some more of their additives especially Roots Excelurator that's a must and you will thank yourself later for buying it. If you cant afford the additives at least try and get the Roots Excel its very good stuff.

anyone use the Botanicare - moisture mix coco? it has humic acid mixed in, which is very interesting. that may help with the mag problems you get in coco(coir/pith). humic acid is supposed to be a natural chelater(sp)

Hello there. I am about to start a grow with cana coco + nutes and got some questions.
1) Should i water with standard ph 5.8 in regular base or it depends on runoff's ph?
2) Can i use Calcium and Magnesium from Canna additives instead of cal/mag? If yes which ammount of each would be ok?
3) Finnaly, should we use PK13/14 from the beggining of flowering or its better after 3rd week?
Thanks a lot.

Hi,

I just found this thread. I started growing in Bcuzz coco about a year ago and I am glad I did. I first started growing when it became legal in my state 3 years ago in an DIY aeroponic system. Afte a couple years I gradually started adding containers of coco and perilite to my garden. Now, I just use a turbo kloner, then it goes straight into coco. Here are a couple of shots of my latest projects. Purple Kush and og kush
