That the parallel are more flexible right? That was kind of my conclusion, with limited knowledge.
Correct, you can hook up 2 or 20 cobs up to them,so to say.

Cobs are getting more efficient al the time. When it come time to upgrade I can take cobs from one driver and throw them on an existing fixture, doubling the cobs on it should increase efficiency by about 10%.

Now with an empty driver I can just throw the new more efficient cobs without having to pay for a new driver or heatsinks, or throwing any of my current equipment away.

Keep in mind many cob manufacturers do not recommend parallel wiring.you should consider whether the cobs in your system design will handle extra load if one of them should happen to burn out or fail for any reason.because when this happens the amp load then gets split between the remaining cobs.just something to think about when designing the system and possibly choosing a driver that is already close to overpowering the system. Give yourself a little wiggle room :)

Personally, it's the only drivers I'll buy. They are very flexible compared to constant current drivers.
How so??? you can go from 2-8 cobs per driver or more if you want. The elg-240-54-d2 i have mentioned can go as low as 27v
you only have to worry if one fails so plan around it

The thing is with 6 cxm22s @1050mA/51.1V =321.93W we are about 2W over specs, 1.6V over specs but still under max V open circuit specs. My guess is for only 1.6V or 2W over it will work but it would be nice to have someone test it to know if this works before ordering this specific cob/driver combo

This is what i was wondering also so i guess while my @CobKits order is shipping im going to go over everyones driver combo suggestions and do some comparing. ( i went back to growMau5 school and payed attention this time !) thanks everyone !

FWIW I have 6 vero29 SE 50v versions hooked up to a HLG 320H C1050a and at full power 1.2a it puts out ~365watts, but these cobs also skirt the voltage limit of the driver.

With the cxm22s I would think theyd accept current up to where they max out the voltage of the driver, where ever 50.8v coincides with on the current chart. This also means you wont be able to get the most out of the driver. You might be able to squeeze more out of a parallel setup because of this.

Thanks man makes sense. Looking into HLG-320H-54B or 600H drivers setup. 320H for 6 cobs or 600H for 12. Quick question: why is the BJB holder better than Ideal for parallel? Do they both have place to connect 2 wire per pole(+/-)?

I hink they would have ben bigger with the 2nd light in there, but next run will have oth from the beginning.

I'm not organic but I'm pretty damn close. I sure as hell am not feeding them a ton of stuff. 400 ppm max after ph correction. Most of the time just ph correction right now.
I couldnt keep ph meters working and thats the main reason I switched honestly. I was buying new ones every few months., but this is easier and I get better results because ferts always get build up or something for me by the middle of flowering or a deficiency with my ph being off.
I sold my ebb n gro my lights and all my meters and started over with led and organic

I couldn't manage without a ph meter. I fed my plants under ph7.5 once and regretted it. I always aim for the runoff to be 6.5. Most of the time I try and creep there. I should take a big whack at it before I put it into flower.

My tap water is over 7.5 normally and my girls are fine with it now, but I used to battle with ph swings and went to RO then to RO and tap mixed and that was the best I think because I got tired of lugging jugs home
