    Shipping equipment to your house?

I agree. Most boxes the UPS guy doesn't know or care what is inside. Many stores offer discreet shipping. i also agree it is possible that police could get ahold of shipping records, but that is so unlikely if you buy from conventional gardening / hydro shops than the shops that advertise in...

NEXTGEN BALLAST & Plant lighting hydroponics.com SUCKS!!!

I don't get why your saying PLH are crooks, filthy liars, which need to be put out of business. They did what they were supposed to. CAP is alright too, I've bought all kinds of cheap ass products from them, and yea, the risk is higher they will break, and I have broken them. Especially...

Temps STILL high in 4x4 tent 600w -- Please HALP

I think that piping some central air should definitely bring it down 3-4 degrees. Having a 600 in such a small spot can be a pain, and your doing fine. 80 is about normal in that situation for a low 70s room.

    Free Grow Software!

Looks good guys. Ive been developing win32 apps for over 10 yrs... so I can appreciate the work that went into it. You guys really had a lot to cram into that UI, and I would have totally done it differently. But thats the cool thing about programming, you can do it 10 different ways, and all of...

    2000watts.. light mover question.

Yield is more determined by total watts rather than coverage. I started with a 1000w hps in a 4x4 area. I netted around 24 oz consistently (sativa). With the same strain, I put that 1000w on a mover, over an 8x4 area with double the plants, and got the same, 24 oz. the buds on the ends of the...

a 50 hps is a 50 hps regardless of the socket. Pretty much any 50 hps ballast will work. They use E26/E27 sockets on those really small bulbs because they suit the small bulbs better. Your bulb and socket, however, (not to be negative) are worth probably under $20... so instead of spending on a...

Well, if they are all on the same circuit, it would trip that one circuit breaker, and thats OK. If it is on a different circuit, it could be that he is in an older home that has overlapping circuits, or has some kind of wiring problem throughout the house, plus a possibly bad circuit breaker...

Anyone know why a drain is needed on a drip system with rockwool?

I think I failed to mention that these would be 6x6x6 rockwool cubes. Do you think that would be easier to not over saturate considering there is so much volume in those? I appreciate your input, as you pretty much nailed my primary concern. I am really tempted to try doing it though... If by...

Anyone know why a drain is needed on a drip system with rockwool?

If i have 2 gallon buckets, and drip just enough solution to saturate the rockwool cube to 80%, why would I ever need drain holes? If I time it to drip twice a day, for 15 minutes, it will nearly saturate the block, but not entirely. As the plant drinks more, I feed it more. No water would ever...

    Portable a/c exhaust?

thats a good idea, i never thought of that. however, the speed of the fan pulling out air through the filter would have to be as fast, or faster than the AC's exit exhaust. My portable AC's have had fans of like 500 cfm so a 650 would probably work really well. thats a really nice idea though

Most bedrooms in the us are wired with 14-2 romex (14 guage wire), on a breaker for 15a. Sometimes bedrooms share a 15 amp circuit. Say you have Bed #2 and Bed #3 on a 15a line. You want to grow in both rooms, and do 4 1000 watters (over 2 4x8 tables, one per room). Each 1000w pulls...

Most 12 gauge extension cords rated for 20 amps, so your well within the limits even with a pretty lengthy cord, which it seems like you will need. Ive seen some extension cords, even though they were 12 ga, were not rated for 20 amps, so make sure you check the actual rating of the cord and...

Yea definitely run more than one line. The problem isn't nessesarily the line itself, Its the socket connection. I just had a situation where i nearly melted a (defective) 20a outlet. My extension cord was a big 10 gauge bastard but it just heated up the socket because it didn't make a perfect...

The Best Deals Thread - Updated Version

I bought 2 of those and they work great. When you are below the 4's or up past the 7s, it can take a little time for the meter to register. Like you have to wait a few seconds as it creeps up 7.1, 7.2,7.3 etc.. but its a small price to pay for such an accurate reader, and i very rarely have to...
