16 oz cup grow **8 weeks flowering**

This is my second grow and because of my limited space I decided to use red cups from start to finish. The cups that I used were 18oz instead of 16 like everyone normally uses. Two of the plants are showing very mild signs of hermy. They had a few pollen sacks and have started producing a couple seeds. How long does it take for seeds to fully form? I would like to plant them and see what happens :bigjoint: None of the other plants got impregged fortunately. Started with 29 plants and down eventually to 12 females. Everything was bagseed. I'm guessing I will probably yield a 1/4oz off each. I will let everyone know when that time comes. I'm gonna harvest a little early (around 70days flowering) because of vacation reasons. Two plants have loose buds but the rest are hard as a rock. CFL's and cups have proven themselves to me! bongsmilie Let me know what you guys think
Setup:
Veg:
11 - 13w CFL & 4 - 26w CFL for veg (6500K)
Flowering:
started with 12 - 13w (2700K) & 3 - 26w (6500K) cuz I was too lazy to go to the store and buy more flowering lights. I think it negatively affected the bud growth on the plants that were under them. After 2 weeks budding I replaced with 12 - 26W and 3 - 13W all 2700K.

Vegged for 26 days
Flowered for 58 days+ (the pics are from day 58) 8)

Wow, I didn't really think something like this could be done.

You should find a way to make the pictures easier to see, many people will pass up these incredible photos because they're too lazy to click :P

I dunno...I'm not that impressed. I have seen this done much, much better.

Lighting was definitely an issue on this grow. Get some better lights.

I can understand having issues with space, but you certainly would've yielded a great deal more if you grew say 3 plants in larger pots instead of a whole bunch of tiny fuggers. Same # of lights, larger pots, fewer plants you would've done better.

But it was interesting nonetheless.

Thank you indica!
I did this as an experiment to see what results could be gotten from a cup grow. Everyone talks crap about growing in a cup and says to use bigger pots. Using the cups, i have about a 2ft grow space and with bigger pots it would have been less. Yes, I could have done LST which i did but this was a personal experiment, plus I now have about 7 different types of bud. Maybe if I used purchased seed I would have gone the other route but this was done on a very tight budget to get some personal trees. Thanks to those who are supportive! BTW this is my second grow with much more to come. I started with 29 and ended up with 12. Next time I will start with 100

Good stuff bro. People don't understand that these 16oz cup grows ARE OBVIOUSLY not for maximum yield (duhhhh). Its for people who want either many different types of strains or for people who have a very tiny grow space. People also do 12/12 from seed in 16oz for fast buds if there out of smoke. (within 2 months). Like I said nice looking colas man.

Love the cups bra.

People also told me I would get way more pot, with 2-4 gallon pots. But I didn't really find this to be true, so I continue to SOG like a MOFO using 1 gallon pot and less, and find it's just perfect for me. This technique works especially well when using clones, because you take out all the hassel of male plants.

I think your cups are working great. keeping CFLs closer to plants during veg could help reduce height a little though. I like your grow because I do something similar. I use recycled 2L plastic pop bottles from the ciders I drink. They are tinted green so they protect the roots from light, and you can take a looksy-loo anytime and see your healthy growth, (hopefully health, anyways).

I think I might try doing 12/12 from seed next time. When would they start flowering though?

Never thought about doing 12/12 from seed to harvest to speed up the process.

I'd recommend the Hash strain if you want to get through the whole process quickly. The Hash strain is also a High THC strain that stays short and has a great yield.

Pretty impressive grow Michoacan considering what you had to work with. I think I may clean off the ping-pong table tonight and get a lil' sumthin started thanks to you.
I can't wait any longer for necessary funds to buy new lights, rubbermaid boxes, pumps and the like. It sucks to read the forum and see all these amazing grows and not be able to participate but I think I may have a viable option now. Thanks.

Remembered my question,

Is that just the strain or did you keep the light fairly far from your plants because they look very lanky and tall.

Probably both lights and strain would lead these stretchy plants.

Someone asked about how tall a regular indica would grow when flowered directly from seed. My experience is that it's different for each individual plant. Some will take to flowering right away and will grow just like a lowryder. While the plants very brother, from the same batch of seeds will hold off flowering and want to mature to 30 days before it truly starts flowering. Mostly you will get shorter plants, but dont expect them all to stay the same even size.

Here's that container I was blabbering about before. The one really cool thing is you can see the root growth, and it's still protected from the light by the green tint, and cider packaging should you decide to leave it on. The obvious advantage to using these, or the 16 oz cups, is the fact you can really stack'em together.

This particular plant is 6 days from it's 7 week harvest point. It's and indica dominat plant called 'Shiva'. The smoke is heavy and flavourfull, as it is should be. The lineage is mainly Afgan, crossed with Northern lights.
