I'm not sure if you've looked at the photo yet, but I'm one step ahead you on "wrapping something around the bottle". You'll see I simply left the Okanagan label on the bottle. You can even still view the roots through the bottom.

If you've ever heard of people using green light bulbs to access their grow room in darkness, the green tint of the bottle protects the roots in the very same way. Even bottles that I completely peeled off the labels suffered no light damage. Trust me people, this idea isn't "silly," unless you count silly-smart.

Plus there's usually hardly any light down where your roots are anyway. I'm not a newbie talking out my ass, these things really work. I think they work better than store bought pales because they're strong, light, compact, and your able to watch your healthy white roots growing. You can know exactly when to transplant your plant, or just get a close-up look at what growing roots look like.

I know what healthy roots look like, and I would know if they were suffering from light exposure. I know it sounds f'n crazy to be able watch your roots grow using a soil medium but it seriously works like a charm.

I'm aware of what hydro can achieve, I want to use bubbleponics for my next grow. Yes, hydro is better than soil. These pots would obviously be better suited for someone interested in growing in soil.
People use green lights to see in the grow room because the plant doesn't recognize it and so it doesn't effect the light cycle..... Nothin to do with roots.
