Hi everybody, i had a thread going and then realized it should have been in a grow journal, so here I go.

I bought 2 packs of seeds from marijuana seeds .nl
One was a Top 44 pack and the other was a seed mix including:

BIG BUD
NORTHERN LIGHTS
BUBBLEGUM
WHITE WIDOW
CRYSTAL ICE

I wanted 2-3 female plants in the end, so I germinated 6 seeds on Sept 18th.
Two of them were Top 44, Four of them where from the mix bag.

5 sprouted by Sept 21st,

so I planted them in Jiffy cups in soiless jiffy mix (mostly peat moss) and hung two 5500k cfls above them.

I kept them in a tupperware container with the bottom filled with water - per advice of somebody.

Sept 26th I planted the seedlings in 1 gallon containers

Added two more cfls (they were 2700k but i changed them to 6500k from somebody's advice)

Added yeast in a liter bottle with holes drilled in the cap (1 packet of yeast, 3/4 liter water, and like 10 tablespoons of sugar).

Temperature was about 86-88 degrees F but i've gotten it down to 80-82 degrees F.

Grow box is 3.5 ft tall, 2.5 ft wide, 1.5 ft deep. Frame is wood, walls are 1/2inch styrofoam insulation painted brown with mylar on the inside. It has 2 computer fans up top blowing out and 2 vent holes on the bottom sucking in.

That brings us to today. (Day 12)

The pots were filled with mixed soil with this approximate ratio:

5-miracle gro moisture control soil - 2 jiffy soiless mix - 3 vermiculite..

The seedlings are all happy now. Three are growing really fast while the other two have some catching up to do. I water them with fish tank water every morning a little bit, making sure not to overwater. They are on 18/6 light cycle.

Attached are recent pics, the temp/humidity conditions/ and my fish tank :-P

Questions, comments welcomed.

kill the alum foil, did the roots go through the biodegradable pot?if not then remove the plants from there bc they tend to have a high ph,glad ur havin success wit ur seeds,i tried ms.nl once and had horrible success, bad germ rate, hermed and just all around bad genes,i got a feminized pack. it was a bad investment on my behalf and i normally get between 98-100% success all the time,i only got 2 plants out of 10,one hermed, the other i gave it a real bad burn and it died, got to close to the lights and forgot to ajust the light that day

Thanks TodayIsAGreenday

Hey wackymack - It's mylar, not foil, it came in squares, the only way i could find it, but it works. Also i cut the jiffy cups with a razor blade across the bottom and sides when i transplanted. I hope my seeds turn out better, I actually bought them a year ago when the website was 420-seeds instead of marijuana-seeds. Cross my fingers 3 turn out female and don't hermie. :-P

Just found this info - guess i answered my own question:

"Plants in seedling and clone stage require about 400-500 lumens per square foot. In vegetative growth they require about 2,500 lumens per square foot and in flowering, they require about 10,000 lumens per square foot."

Day 14

everything looks good, just letting them do their thing.

the runt is growing slowly and runt #2 is getting bushy and staying small.

Yeah cfls' all the way - i'm curious to see how this project is going to affect my electric bill, even though they are cfls' they are gonna add up :)

Here's an update on the ladies - they are all doing pretty well, one of the top 44's has weird bottom leaves, but still looks healthy. The baby runt is growing a little more each day.

BTW When are these not considered seedlings anymore and officially in vegetative mode?

Questions comments suggestions always welcome

So far so good. i had fruit flies attack my plants - because of an earthworm farm bucket i had. Problem has been taken care of. Meanwhile the plants are happy, i reduced watering because a few were looking limp.

Only gonna upload a group photo from here on, unless I need to talk about a specific plant. :blsmoke:

questions comments always welcome

the plant next to the bottle doesnt look that good, alittle slow in a way, ttyl goin to bed, just my input

yeah that little plant germinated late, and was a runt for like a week.

It finally started growing but the leaves are coming in all gnarled and curly.

I am hoping it will recover. - i put tupperware under it's pot to get it closer to the lights too.
