my weird point was that, in reality, we all hang to life by a thin thread. who is anyone to say that because one thread is thinner it is ok to snip it and let the person die?

life is a gift.

.

Life is a gift, true. Sometimes things happen and people do make mistakes. Im not saying I would ever do that. But if it were to be outlawed I think it would end up harming women/teens more in the long run.
So if it is to be done, I think it should be in the first few weeks of pregnancy.

yeah, i have a good friend who had an abortion when she was 16 and that's what it was; a mistake. i just wish our society wouldn't look down on young women who are willing to let an even less fortunate couple adopt. we should be proud of those women and thankful!

i don't think weeks, months or even seconds matter... there is a child at conception - hanging by a very thin thread. we can just disagree until i convince you i'm right. :)

Or we could just disagree and leave it at that. It would be a never ending arguement. :blsmoke:

If we make it illegal, we will just have another reason to either lock up willing participants, (Mothers, nurses, and Doctors) or send women to the back alley butchers that have killed so many in the past. Is this the program you anti-abortion people really want? We don't live in an Ideal world where all things can be perfect, people make mistakes, Some mistakes like an unwanted pregnancy can be very stressful and emotional leading to irrational behaviour. Condeming a young pregnant teen to go through an unwanted pregnacy or have a butcher coat hanger it out of her is in my estimation extremely cruel. Remember, I am not in favor of abortion, but I condemn not those that choose to do so.

i really don't think that it is rational or realistic to believe that killing a human being for your own selfishness is a "service" an advanced society should have around.

there's no excuse for not taking birth control. people need to take some fucking responsibility.

Here's where we part company: i really don't think that it is rational or realistic to believe that killing a human being for your own selfishness is a "service" an advanced society should have around.

So killing an unborn fetus is immoral, but killing a live human is OK? If the rational worked for all lives, living and unborn, there may be consistency to your premis, otherwise it is just choosing who will die and who will not. We are not Gods, even though some of us like to make God like decisions. As in: lets just napalm the whole village and let God sort it out, or let the fetus live but lets Kill the prisoners. Do you "Feel me"?

No, we don't "feel you".

Many of us don't get high enough during the week, or weekends for that matter, to get to your level of thinking...

'Birth Control" causes cancer and infertility. Abortion causes a loss of feeling and it cheapens human life. Fidelity is the only solution. Loose woman should be contained in monestries. Sadly, incaceration of infidels is less of a problem than when they create another generation of criminals and pedophiles. Pornography makes it very difficult for the young mind to achieve a healthy mental state. These are ancient lessons, still not understood. Morals are there for a reason.

Wow.
I gotta say I don't necessarily disagree with you, but I think your wishes are a bit unrealistic. Either way, I find it funny a person with your feelings is posting on a weed growing forum. I guess even the highly religious like the chronic ;o

Nor will you ever, unfortunately. Some are thinkers and then there are the others, sigh, I fear that it will be a long while before man figures out that the commandment that is most crucial "Thou shall. not Kill" should be taken seriously. BTW I don't smoke MJ, makes me paranoid. Smoked for nearly thirty years, it just doesn't work for me any more. I've found that sobriety is a good thing. When you get your head in the right place, you will not need artificial mind altering. Not knocking it, I just don't need it. I grow it for my friends, and a little cash.

a fetus is not a person, its a growth of cells inside the mother, and therefor a part of the mother. Until that umbilical cord is cut, it should be the mothers right to do whatever she wishes. It is unfortunate that we don't live in a world where every baby can be given a healthy life and upbringing, but we can't. It would be a terrible situation if abortions were made illegal. How would you punish the mothers? Charge them for murder? Give them death penalties? And what of the babies? Who takes care of the millions of babies born to unfit parents? Our foster homes are already over crowded. We can't deal with the current situation, what makes anyone think we can deal with no abortions? Abortion, as ugly as it is, has been a part of civilization since the beginning. The fact of the matter is, it is sometimes better to have no life at all than the alternative life this world can offer.
