but if you flower immediately after there are roots, wont you not have that large of a plant? i mean it wont be worth it becAUSE you will only get like a couple grams a plant

Not really, I think a reasonable expectation is between 1/8 to 1/4 oz of dried bud per plant this way..

I think it's easily possible to harvest at least 1 oz of dried bud every 2 months from this thing if all 7 pots were used to grow small single cola's from clones...

Yea, you are right..at least for this first cycle. I'll need an extra few weeks for the cuttings. But after that, it should be good

Here's the plan:

1 - put first set of clones into the Aerogarden for flowering
2 - after 30 days, I take new cuttings from the mother plants
3 - after another 30 days, my buds should be close to being finished..and my cuttings will have had about 30 days to veg..

I think it should work! At least, in theory it should.

so in step two where are you planning on putting these new cuttings at anyway? also where are you planning on putting ALL new cuttings for rooting? just in the aerogarden? will that work

Oh, sorry..I guess I wasnt' too clear :)
The Aerogarden will only be used for flowering the clones , once this first initial grow is done.

I have them in a small cabinet right now. They stack on top of each other quite nicely, and are only $29 at any local Target:
Target : 2-Door Organizer

I will get a 2nd cabinet, and flip it on it's side (so the doors will open like an oven) . This way, it's long enough so I can get some cheap 2' flourescent grow lights in there for the clones and mothers. Something like this: 24" Flourescent Fixture (holds 2 bulbs) | Fluorescent Grow Lights

And the clones, I will just get this kit..which will sit alonside of the the mothers in the second cabinet
Cloning Kit | Propagation & Cloning=
It comes with everything needed :)

So it's been nearly 4 weeks since I planted the seeds in the AG.

Here are a few more pics...I started flowering 5 days ago, so I should see signs of sex within the next few days, and then I can weed out the males.

They are doing nice, all of them are nice and healthy, although 2 of them (on the ones on the far right) got attacked by my cat early on , and have taken a bit to recover so they are kinda stumpy

Taken last week - 3 weeks old

Taken today

Welp, one of the 7 plants in the bunch has just now sexed out to be a male :(

1 down, 6 more to go......I topped it and might grow it out for the first grow to seed a few buds on the females (if I get any!) because it was a really nasty and stinky smelling plant, so it might be fun to try my hand at crossbreeding

Ok, another update:

I now have 2 confirmed females, and one male. There are still 4 plants left that have not shown their sex yet....more pics coming soon

I got two males too, out of the 7. I've got one more that looks like it could be male, but thats not entirely clear. The other 4 are definately females. I took the 2 males, put them in another room, in soil, and am using a small grow light on them. They seem to be taking...

...I just couldn't kill em off!

I'm trying to get the AeroGrow fro Christmas.

I was going to put it in my closet with an oscillating fan. with the door open.

What setting is best for growing plants?

Will it get to bigand I'll have to Tie it up, and make sure the fan keep it's from catching fire...

Need to know setting, and what nutrient to use, if any...

Thanks!

I highly recommend that you read the threads by Tek before you get started. Make sure you have everything you need before you start your grow. I am going to start my first grow soon. I have a aero pro 100 and i just upgraded to the new lighting and 24" height extension kit. I also ordered the new aero deluxe with the master gardener kit. I have a sm homebox that i am putting the aerogardens in with a 6"duct fan and charcoal filter for the ventalitation and smell. 2 small 6" fan with a clamp to keep the plants cool. I am going to use the extra hood from the aero garden for side lighting and a extra 3000 kelvin 6800 lumins multi spectrum cfl in a clamp hood from home depot on the otherside. When the plants grow past 24" i will hang the hoods from chains. I would not use the nutes that come with the garden. They are too strong from what i have read and the best is the Foxfarm nutes. That is what i am going to use. The best settings would be the 24 hr cycle and pump 24 hrs or the salad greens which is 16.5 on and 7.5 off with the pump on 24hrs or the herbs/basil 17 on 7 off and the pump is on 17 hrs. The tomatoes/peppers is 16 on 8 off pump on 20 hrs. I will propally use the 24 cycle or the salad green for veg. I will put the lights on a seperate cord and timer for 12/12 flowering. I will be planting lowryder #2, nothern lights / skunk #1 cross and big bud. I plan to plant 4-5 plants per garden. I plan to top the plants and clone the tops. Hopefully i will get 1oz per plant. I hope this helps. Good luck

Okay, I need to know how to start budding the plants, without using a ghetto rig system...

I am going to use the AG nutes, and start out on salad Greens. Should I use salad green nutes?

Couldn't you grow using salad green setting, and as long as you keep the plants pinched, and topped, it will eventually drop to flowering light cycle? Am I correct??

If, anything, how could I use one of those X-Mas light timers, to hook up to my AG lights to start 12/12, to flower my plants?

I'm planning on keeping it pluged in my closet with an ossicilating fan/air purifier behind the system... Should I use foil to keep a lot of light in the room?

Also, should I leave the door open, closed, or cracked?

Is there any risk of the plant getting so tall, that it might result in a fire? I don't want that, I can't burn my house down, I am poor! I mean I'm growing pot aren't I? Well not yet, it's flowering season for Outdoor growing...

Thanks for your help!

I pretty much am left with the AG system to grow, I do not have extra lights, or a flowering chamber, LOL.
