AK-47 progress!

GOGO LST! So much empty space in your grow area!
Yay! Thank you ArCaned for your encouraging words! I intend to start the LST process in about 2 days. I will post everything in detail of course. I have been REALLY looking forward to this stage as it should get me a lot closer to my plant :) I am looking into scrog methods and I feel with the amount of branches I want to keep, the method can come in handy. And hey, everything has went okay so far, why not push her to full potential! I would rather try and not succeed, then not try and fail.

Day 51!!! I have done the LST and I believe it turned out pretty good! Check it :)

Before:

After:

20130830_105850.jpg20130830_105909.jpg20130830_105924.jpg20130830_105937.jpg20130830_105944.jpg20130830_105952.jpg20130830_110025.jpg20130830_110030.jpg20130830_110043.jpg

The light is going to hit every branch nicely! I performed LST on all of the branches and the top main colas, but I think I should have only done LST on the top to let the lower branches catch up, but I think it looks fine, what do you all think?

The indica looking bagseed is showing signs of being a male but I dont know, check it out.

I see a bunch of balls everywhere!!! :( Oh well.

The clone is doing well also and I will be posting pictures soon! Thanks Earthlings!!!

The second in the series of the indica bagseed do indeed seem to be showing balls.

You needn't rush to chop. You will be able to see them develop and be certain.

Enjoy those that remain.

Yeah later today I saw even more balls, like 5 separate balls on both sides of each node, so I got rid of him :( I will be enjoying the others though! The clone still has not shown signs of decay and this is day 12 since I put her in the cup. I am assuming that this is a good sign. I hope it is as flowering 2 plants would make me a happy panda :D

I have seen root signs in the clone!!!!!!!!!! I will be posting pics later tonight and I will be transplanting on Monday, maybe earlier :)

Well here are the pictures of the clone!

20130901_003143.jpg20130901_003155.jpg20130901_003202.jpg20130901_003252.jpg

And here are the 2 roots that I can see!!!

20130901_003212.jpg20130901_003226.jpg

The leaves that used to be yellow are starting to green up again! And those roots look pretty damn strong to me. If things go well I may keep her as a mother and flower the trained grandmother ^_^ What do you guys think? anything you see that I can do to help her along or leave her how she is? Should I expose her to more light? What about a VERY mild dose of nutrients? Thanks in advance Earthlings. It is a great day indeed!

Ah the exuberance! I would let her be for now, let it get a good root system going. Dont wanna burn with nutes yet. A few drops of superthrive in a gallon water would do good though :)

Just finished removing the aluminum foil from the walls and painted it flat white! I have to say, the room is a lot brighter and the temp dropped a decent amount. I was able to bring my lights lower to 18". I have also installed an exhaust fan and put it near the top of the plant to take the heat away. Not working too well as I do not have a means to push the air outside the house of in the attic so I just face the ducting as far away from the grow area as possible, facing it towards the a/c vent.

A couple of pics of the plants and how the light penetrates better.

I am no expert but I will NEVER use aluminum foil again. It is too dark and besides, I'm not BBQing over here lol
Your ladies are looking very happy. Nice job.

OK! Here are the pics of day 54! I must say the LST really shines guys. Still an uneven plant that needs more training but she is so wonderfully bushy!!!! 3 more weeks of training and I am throwing her into my new flowering grow tent :D Got some pics of the clone's roots before I transplanted also! Things are going great thank God!

First the canopy. I took a pic with the light on (right) and off (left) I think lights off is better in my opinion:

20130902_234549.jpg20130902_234535.jpg20130902_234710.jpg

Now to the nodes!

20130902_234616.jpg20130902_234629.jpg20130902_234658.jpg20130902_234841.jpg20130902_234901.jpg

And here is the clone. I felt it was time to transplant.

20130902_234921.jpg20130902_234932.jpg20130902_234940.jpg20130902_234951.jpg20130902_235003.jpg

As you can see those roots ha stretched well! Going to let her develop and then clone her again, many times! I fed the main plant today also but not the clone, not yet. And tomorrow she could use a nice trim. I only remove the fan leaves though and only the ones blocking crucial areas of light. I always try to keep it to a minimum so I tuck away what I can and remove the rest. 2-3 weeks and the flowering time commences!!! Thanks for the help Earthlings! :)

Looking good. Keep it up.

JD
Thanks JD! Good to hear from you again, friend! I will be posting pics after her trim today so that the node growth can be seen better! I just realized that I am not going to flower unless I get a cool tube light hood so that I can bring the lights as close as possible and get rid of the heat. Also my flowering grow tent has arrived today! Pics coming as soon as I set it up :D

Here is day 58!!! 2 more days and then I flip the lights off. Some people say to go dark for 36-48 hours but I think 24 hours is good enough to get the budding hormones fired up! Let me know what you guys do. Ok so now on to the progress pics!

First here are the pics of the beautiful survivor clone! She has gotten so big already and is filling the surface of the container! Her nodes are looking pretty healthy also. I may need to do minor LST to even her out as that stem is bent a little bit, but I will wait and see if she fixes herself up.

20130906_203200.jpg20130906_203209.jpg20130906_203323.jpg20130906_203242.jpg20130906_203257.jpg20130906_203311.jpg

And now the main plant! My canvas is a bit more even now and the branches are thickening up! I trimmed very little but I mostly tucked away the leaves that were blocking light. I think I like tucking the leaves away better than just removing them ( less stress, and kinda fun, like tetris :p ) Anyways here she is!

20130906_203435.jpg20130906_203447.jpg20130906_203510.jpg20130906_203528.jpg20130906_203617.jpg20130906_203628.jpg20130906_203704.jpg20130906_203710.jpg20130906_203741.jpg20130906_203754.jpg20130906_203831.jpg

Well thats all for today Earthlings! Next update will be day 1 of lights on in flowering! Let me know about turning off the lights 36 hours before starting the 12/12 cycle, or if 24 hours is enough. Thanks again!

Ok, this is day 65! I have transplanted to a 7 gallon pot about a week ago and, because I heard it is good to wait some time after transplanting, I have not flowered yet. I flip the lights off tonight and it will turn on after 12 hrs. Final pics of veg
I believe she is now prepared for the coming stretch. The light is 14" away and my grow tent temp is 80. Will be using Jack's classic Blossom Booster 10-30-20. I used to apply it for my roses so can't go wrong here! Well here they are!

Here is the big plant:

20130913_143320.jpg20130913_143329.jpg20130913_143348.jpg20130913_143432.jpg20130913_143504.jpg20130913_143520.jpg20130913_143605.jpg

As you can see putting her into a grow room has helped a lot! Most of the damage from heat stress has been eliminated!

And here is the clone:

20130913_143136.jpg20130913_143204.jpg20130913_143633.jpg20130913_143647.jpg

I hope the clone does not stretch too much! I like growing a topped/trained plant and a normal Christmas tree plant to see how the bud forms on both
This is it guys! This is the beginning of something beautiful I think! Stay tuned for the bud!!!!

Flowering week 1 is finished! She has grown tremendously!

20130921_202912.jpg20130921_202920.jpg20130921_203104.jpg20130921_203144.jpg20130921_203207.jpg20130921_203314.jpg

I have managed to maintain the even canopy but adjusting the binding points of each branch. She responds so well! She has gotten very tall, almost to the top of the tomato cage!

20130921_203041.jpg20130921_203124.jpg20130921_203138.jpg20130921_203233.jpg20130921_203243.jpg

And here for the clone it was stretching a bit much so I trained her also. I won't be training too much more as I heard it is bad during flowering but I think it is ok for the first few weeks, otherwise, how would scrog work?!?! lol

20130921_202939.jpg20130921_203017.jpg20130921_203157.jpg

Well that is it for week 1 update. Not much to see other then the even canopy and height gain :) Till next week Earthlings!

Very lovely structure. I am sure it will produce.

I found AK-47's genetics to be very strong.

Good luck,

JD

Alright sorry I was late with the updates! Here are the pics for the end of week 2!!!

Things are moving along quite nice I believe.

20130928_190927.jpg20130928_191050.jpg20130928_191107.jpg20130928_191122.jpg20130928_191128.jpg

The budsites are really starting to pop everywhere. I am concerned though. Should I remove leaves to make more light penetration or just keep tucking away? It seems a bit early to start budding already but I am guessing that it is a good thing as AK 47 is 8 weeks of flowering. Ample time for those buds to gain some girth right?

Here are some close ups

20130928_190854.jpg20130928_190912.jpg20130928_191000.jpg20130928_191015.jpg20130928_191041.jpg20130928_191148.jpg20130928_191236.jpg

There are pics for the clone but the light was too close Still looks cool though

20130928_191206.jpg20130928_191217.jpg

Well, till next week Earthlings!

Week 3 is finished! Things are looking quite good I think.

1.jpg2.jpg3.jpg4.jpg5.jpg6.jpg

I am liking how she is turning out. No bud spot is more than 18 inches from the light. Here are some close ups of some of the many heads :) !

7.jpg8.jpg9.jpg10.jpg

I am liking the structure of the clone. She is coming along nicely.

clone1.jpgclone2.jpgclone3.jpgclone4.jpgclone5.jpg

Well that is all Earthlings! See you next week!

Here is an update for the end of week 4!!!! I just watered them so this is why the leaves may seem droopy. I am watering once a week and feeding every water. Mom plant gets 2 gallons of water and clone gets 1 gallon. Should I feed and water more often? I am only doing it if she is dry. Let me know, thanks!

This is the big plant. The momma!

Here are pics of the little clone. She has come such a long way

20131013_231725.jpg20131013_231754.jpg20131013_231831.jpg20131013_231856.jpg

And some close ups.

20131013_231807.jpg20131013_231909.jpg20131013_231922.jpg20131013_231955.jpg20131013_232005.jpg

Well that is all for now. Is she doing good so far? Does her bud development seem slow or is it good for 4 weeks flowering time? Feed more often? Does she look healthy overall? Please and thank you for any and all help Earthlings!
