I think I actually did. after the fact. Medical state. I have been around and around about this in another thread. Only mentioned it here in passing.

I have solved the RFI and you are way far above and beyond right about the 12 hr cable guy problem. I mention this here and other threads time and again. He showed me a graph of my light coming on and going off since the moment of installation and I have mentioned time and again that I am way WAY more worried about theft than being busted.

Unless these are some super dumbass rednecks (i think they aren't) then they know what the fuck is happening.

I didn't really expect a cheap ballast to be a problem because of my familiarity with electronics and radio broadcasts and the current laws about consumer products etc. Boy was I fucking wrong as I have admitted numerous times recently.

I did fix the issue, actually the cable guy fixed it first, but I was on top of it.

I just caused my own problem chasing another.

It was a square wave and was fucking a obvious. like I said, I am still in fear of being robbed. and not for the crop, I don't want to lose my electronics and equipment.

I have also since gotten a not cheap ballast. I have fixed my cheap ballast issues, so now I have options that preclude the cable guy's ability to log on and look at my grow schedule. Unless he just filtered the neighbors problem and installed a monitor to view my schedule.

Phantom 2 I was told fixes the problem no matter what.

HID bulbs are expensive and you need to replace them every year too.

fuck that. I'll replace it every month to avoid what I just went through.

cheap insurance.

However, my curiosity lies in effect versus cost. Production efficiency. bang/buck.

edit: not that anyone would replace them like that, just saying. If that could prevent this problem, I would gladly do it. I know that is an irrelevant issue. But I would also replace more often no matter the cost if production suffered.

I would say small. One 5x5 and one 3x3. I mean for now.

My goal is to figure out how to efficiently outfit a larger grow based on current experience. keyword; efficiency. initial cost versus long term cost regarding prduction
If your current new and "expensive" ballast is a 1000W you are good to go in the 5x5. For the 3x3 look at a 400W

I will ignore the bickering as I know those two have a history with each other, that being said, cut it the fuck out or take it to PM! There's no place for that here, and I'm not taking sides. This does nothing to cultivate an environment of learning and if it continues I will not report anyone, I will just have the entire fucking thread deleted, it takes a lot of my personal time to keep this going here and another forum on top of my growing with my disabilities. I will not repeat myself on this again, the thread will just be gone, period.

Moving along to related information. I culled (3) plants in the 4x8 tonight as well as (2) Auto's from the COB's. I let them go too long without watering over the weekend and the auto's would just end up being larf, and the photo's in the 4x8 would have suffered greatly in yield. Shit happens. I am having some temp issues right now and need to solve them ASAP, I think this contributed to the issues from when I was away. Adding the 3rd 600 in the room has raised my temps enough to make it an issue. Going to have to find a way to route the hot air out of the room (have an idea) and a way to bring in cooler air from outside the room in. I was not expecting this issue as the room is in the basement and has no windows. The only side not solid is the entry way (2) doors......... :wall:

Anyhow here are some shitty pics really not happy with where things are at but I did what needed to be done. Getting the chop in the 4x8 were the (2) SBA's (this killed me these were my best plants), and the purple envy fem (I didn't take cuts because I have more beans and this pheno was very finicky). I did however take cuts of the SBA - 8- The GG#4 on the left got a loli popping as well and I took cuts off of her (4). I did not get around to defoliating the (2) GG#4's or the Blue Harley or smaller Doggie Dreams, just worn the fuck out tonight. Will tackle this tomorrow. I did however strip down my bigger Doggie Dreams that is begging to be flipped, pre flowers like a mofo.

This plant is very special to me as it's my first cross and it's a non auto fem and I can tell you the buds will have to be terrible for me not to keep her, Mother potential for sure. She's naked because I cleaned her up down low and defoliated her today. She blew up under the HPS and the 10 gallon pot of no till. Will take cuts off of her tomorrow for sure.

Here's a shot of the HID 3x3 tent, there's (5) plants in here right now, the (4) Hubba Bubba Smelliscope Auto's and the Satori male. I will be moving the male out tomorrow.

IMG_20170913_015701.jpg

The Doggie Dreams seedling hiding in the pic of the HID tent was moved to the COB tent tonight as space freed up from culling two girls. I topped this plant yesterday. This is the seedling that was growing through the brick pavers in the back yard, I just pulled it gently from it's spot and tossed it into this #1 and it's taken off. The spots are from a foliar spray.

IMG_20170913_015813.jpg

And here's a shot of the COB tent, the auto's left look like shit but buds are not fluffy like the two dead girls and they're not burnt so I'm letting them ride since they're finishing up anyways I'll probably chop them at the end of the week. Started water only on them tonight.

I am trying to root all the cuts in the tray straight into the medium after soaking in Clonex for 30-45 mins. I have had success with this many times in the past and wanted to try it again. Would really simplify my life if this works consistently. In my testing to now I have found it depends greatly on the genetics.

Thanks for checking in

I apologize if I started, contributed to, or in any way antagonized this issue.

I got the "cheapie" 1Kw HPS for the 5x5, that caused the problem. My knee jerk was multifold to solve the issue, one of which was the "expensive" phantom II 600w thinking my leds were part of the problem.

As it turns out, the cable guy tightened some loose fitting somewhere inline and nothing I did helped at all. He fixed the issue while I was deeply involved with my ex girlfriend during REM (don't ask). I subsequently spent more money than I had available chasing a problem that no longer existed.

I guess the point is, I have a 1kw hps for the 5x5 flower and now a 600w mh for the 3x3 veg. I have leftovers of 3x600 and 1x300 leds (old style) that may or may not be utilized.

I was unhappy with results of the "1800"w led in flower which caused my rfi problem. I was worried that some sort of issue using the new digital ballast with the leds was a problem which prompted the purchase of the phantom and replacing the leds,

Run the 1K in the 5x5 and the 600W Blue MH in the 3x3 you see how my 600W Blue MH is doing for me in my 3x3 :hump:

I just haven't installed the 600 in the 3x3 yet. had the cable guy insisted, it would have been done already.

everyfuckingtime I say/type "cable guy" I picture Larry as Jim Carrey.

If I weren't disabled as well, the 600 would already be in the 3x3. for now it's in limbo. I could really stand getting the leds out of the 3x3 and improvising something for all those extra plants I need to rid myself of. corner of the garage used for cuttings and holding patterns.

In the basement, so are you exhausting outside? what's the cfm on your blower and total HID wattage?

just a suggestion, not trying to be a dick, but honestly you should just stick with Fems . Can "veg out" any issues until you dial in your environment at flip............autos aren't forgiving obviously

The cfm of my fan is twice what the tent needs and no not currently exhausting outside because there is no access to outside. Going to see soon if I buy a splitter and tie in the exhaust from both hid tents together and exhaust them.through a vent I found in the room. We will see this will be my next project as well as hanging my filter up top.

That is what I used with 2 exhausts. A 6"x6"x8" "Y" shaped duct piece. And 2 exhaust dampers so if one is off or lower speed the dampers close or adjust to the air flow.

It is attached to the hole in my basement to the chimney for a wood stove pipe.
