Finally got it up n running last night.
Good news after spending hrs to get my 3 stand up AC's right, now I got a new mini-split guy who's coming in the morning.
Looks like I'll be adding a few more lights to accommodate the Soggish plants & 2 other big girls that won't fit in this configuration of 9.5'x4.5' x2 sides.
Looks like I'll only be able to fit 3 on each side the way it is now. So, more work to do.
Wow! You stripped em good. I'm gonna lay off on the de-fo myself. Just what's necessary for air flow.
Good job bro!View attachment 4010998
Looking good in there bro can't wait to see this run. Awesome news on the minisplit. Can't wait to one day have a proper grow room with minisplit and what not. And I'd like to try a run with CO2 at some point.

ok, quick question for all you light gurus here. is there a difference between a reflector or socket used for a magnetic versus a digital ballast? Went to plug in my new light and at first glance they looked the same, but it won't plug in. Is it wattage or style or what is it that makes it different that it won't fit and can it be made to fit?

The bulb screws in to the socket, the old ballast is a 400w MH and the new one is the phantom. I figured the reflector wouldn't matter and I was going to reuse it with the new ballast. the flat blade and middle round blade are correct, but the outside round blade is in the wrong place. oldreflectorplug.jpg newballastplug.jpg

What brand is the reflector/cordset?

nothing I have will plug into those 3 round holes.

those two pics are what I have, one is the reflector, the other is the ballast. you have to look extremely close and flip it in your head because it looks as if they fit together, but they don't

I'd be guessing on the reflector brand but I'm guessing Diamond, same as the old magnetic ballast. Came from an unknown source, friend of a friend.

both plug and "socket" have the same components, one flat blade with two round "blades". My pics are the actual pieces

I was gonna buy this and just cut the end off and rewire the reflector socket with this cord. Unless I can't, I have zero experience with HID lighting. That was the main thing I am worried about. Is there any known issue just getting a plug that will fit my ballast and cut it and make it work with the lamp base in the reflector?

I think you are on it.
What you need is the reverse of the part I posted - That part is hydrofarm reflector to PL/Diamond ballast

but nothing at all that I have has three round "blades" or holes?

I will look at their site, but I don't have anything at all that has 3 round holes. Maybe they have an adapter that has one flat and two round on each side that are in different positions, like one end will not plug into the other but the look the same at first glance.

will wattage have anything at all to do with anything?

what you linked and "brand S" are the only two adapters on their site and what I have doesn't plug into the end with 3 round holes and the brand s doesn't show the other end so I can't see what it looks like.

What I need will look just like what you pictured on only one end, the square end, with the other end looking nearly identical except move the far left round prong down from where it is.

Like I said, at quick glance they look identical, only when you try and line them up to plug them together does the problem become apparent, the one prong is the right shape, just not in the right place.

If you look at my top pic, that empty spot for a round prong that almost looks like a prong has been cut off is exactly where it should be and it would fit perfectly.

I wish that adapter you linked was the right one, it is way cheaper.

As long as there's not an electrical or light specific issue that will fuck things up if I just cut the end off that one from ebay and wire it to the socket in the reflector. Sucks having to wait another few days, fuck me. One problem just breeds them by the dozens it seems.

As a matter of fact, now that I think about it, my ballast has that plug with 3 round prongs, it has a slider cover that blocks one off and only allows you to plug in one style at a time. The reflector does not have anything like that. Just the normal plug that looks like the adapter you pictured except with the prongs in different positions

maybe download my pic and then rotate it to face the same direction and you will see what I am having such a hard time explaining. sorry.

Ok guys tonight's update will be pic heavy, just wanted to give you guys a good look around the garden. I cleaned up the burnt leaves on the two skywalker auto's, and I transplanted my Doggie Dreams #3 seedling into a #3 of organic soil, plant was showing signs of stress somewhat from wanting a transplant. Watered it with plain tap water and with a good amount of run off we shall see how the plant responds. I used Mykos like always do for the transplant.

So here we have what I consider the current star of the show, my Doggie Dreams #1 plant. First seed of my first cross and it was a non auto fem what more can a guy ask for huh. Took a few pics, the 4x8 is on Day 2 of Flower. She had been stripped naked except for the top fan leaves about 4 days ago:

I cleaned up the two Skywalker Auto's of the burnt fan leaves and I'm not going to pull them yet, they can go longer still and I've waited this long why rush it, can't even remember what day they're on will have to search back through the log to see. I'm guessing a couple more days and no more water since day before yesterday:

And here's a shot of the HID 3x3 tent running the 600 watt Blue MH, the middle plant is my Satori Male that I am using for breeding, the four corners is the Hubba Bubba Smelliscope from Mephisto Genetics, the HBS are just starting to flower and are 22"-24" tall, let's see how much they stretch before they start fattening up I'm excited about these girls first time running this strain:

I can't find the pic to the 4x8 so will have to wait for tomorrow's update. The stripped down plants are showing new growth and it's looking very healthy, hopefully this finishes their transition to the organics, but so far I like what I see.

Thanks for checking in and hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
:peace:

Edit: Adding this info to refer back to after. Tonight the large Doggie Dreams #1 was 38" tall and both the Gorilla Glue are sitting at 43" tall.

Your best bet is to just get a "type S" Ballast/lamp cord or a Hydrofarm type and wire it onto your reflector:

that looks like what I was trying to find but with the square end. As long as there is not issue with using my reflector and lamp base, that is pretty much what I am going to do except with the extension I found on ebay. I already for it before you posted this message. Not sure how much they would charge for shipping but the ebay cord was a dollar more but has free shipping. Might end up a little cheaper. I just have to cut the end off myself rather than it being ready.

Or an adapter like the real cheap solution, but I couldn't find one.

As long as I don't screw something up by using my old reflector and lamp base. I can rewire it easily and correctly as long as there's not some other issue that causes problems.

You'll be fine with that cord adapter.
Just cut the female end off an wire it right into the lamp holder in your reflector and you'll be good to go :hump:

I was hoping someone would say that. Wish things could just be simple for once without having to cut shit apart and go buy more pieces and parts and wait days for delivery etc
