What's up @Stltoed? I'm happy to hear you got some awesome results under our P4. It's definitely convenient to have our warehouse so nearby to you. I am with Platinum and I'm actually based out of Florida. The shipping and receiving is all out of California and the rest of the team is out in Hawaii. Please let me know if I can help you out in any way and thanks for sharing.
My P4 results. I have friends that have never done that well with an HPS. Im about 9 miles North of Mira Loma.

I don't know. I think t5 is better than most purple lights.

I have a blurple from unit farm. Not a true one. It has white, blue and red diodes from cree and osram. It does a great job so far. Better than the t5 it replaced.
Yeah and honestly with blurple its a crap shoot. T5 will definitely do the job!

Agreed! currently looking for some uv supplementation for my new girls. Lots of options.
For joe or jill schmo growing in the dorm room closet, heck yea a mars300 will pull 3 oz or more on a plant if your dialed in.
But on that hypothetical thread you'll get a half dozen jerks chiming in about "grow big or go home"
Typically spouting nonsense about a 400 watt hps and expensive and elaborate methods to prevent your closet from becoming a pizza oven.
Either that or the cob/quantum guy pointing them to a 2 to 300 dollar diy, when the OP in question is likely living on ramen noodles.
Grab some flouros, blurple, what ever and get growing!!! Its fun, its rewarding, and you'll get stoned either way!

Good hunting
Couldn't of said it better myself.

I started with CFLs a few years ago in a gutted CPU micro grow, I still use a bluple mars 300 for veg. Nothing wrong with it, because I have a small budget, and support a family.

Never understood bashing people just for making the most out of what's either available, or obtainable for them.

I got to see blurples from china firsthand yesterday.
I was at a hydro grow store.
They had tents set up with the 300w blurples.
Honestly i laughed seeing those lights. they where super dim.
I mean they where like $200 - $300 and they didn't look like they could grow anything.
I had a quick look under directly at the LEDS while they where on - YOU AREN'T SUPPOSED TO EVER DO THAT.
But they where so dim that it really didnt do anything. im really glad i didn't shell out and buy one of those.
They barely lit up the tents they where in. Im pretty sure those where the worst of the worst though.

So sad. Some kid is gonna save up, buy the tent, get these lights, the GH trio and never now he got fucked till he finally starts asking questions. I question the integrity of the seller. I sincerely hope that "kid" comes to a place like this first. There are some fairly cheap lights out there that are worth s look, it's just criminal that these assholes are peddling purple flashlights as viable inexpensive options.

So i fell asleep on the couch last night. I woke up to get a drink and saw the LEDs I want. The mother fucking streetlights! Holy shit! We have only had them for about a month, and this one was blocked by a patio umbrella till last night when the Santa Ana winds wiped it out. So i never really noticed it till I tried to get back to sleep tonight. My God... this thing cranks, and talk about a footprint! Yep my next lights are gonna be Cal. Edison's.

Yeah that's outrageous, I only paid like $60 for my bluple a few years ago.

Even in the world of blurple there are big differences in efficiency, quality and engineering but things are so simple now with white COBs and Boards.
What kind sucks for those outside this forum is the complete lack of advertising, and reviews of COB lights or QBs. I studied the shit out of lights before settling on Black Dog P2s. I had seen Amare, but heard NOTHING about how they were. Seems like a company like Timber (or any company with high throughput capabilities) would do itself a huge favor by simply making itself known to the masses. Being the first COB company to show themselves as a huge upgrade to purple lights, oh, and they are a lot less expensive would be amazing. The price point alone would drive sales.

The closest I had seen was the Spectrum King, and i bought one, but i really never saw my plants get onto it. Another issue I had was the company is a complete circus. I've seen my light for sale for $2300, not on ebay, i bought mine from the company for $650.

More good facts on LEDs and COBs right here for our purposes than anywhere I've seen. Add to that that forum participation is much greater and my Lighting is a direct result of RIU. LEDs COBs only for 3 1/2 years!

First stay away from rollitup, this is a place for kids, second I always get shit replies here for telling the truth. Think of quantum boards, everyone talking miracles about them but almost no journals and most ppl talking about them without having them, same goes with cobs, its cool to say you have those, its the new trend, I had to buy my cobs just because no one would give me real input and wanted to see it for myself... ...but now to the important part:

I own a mars 900w and a timber 6x cob citizcen clu048. The mars kick the cobs ass any day on production and quality, the mars was way cheaper than the timber and got double the yields, way better phenos and better customer support by far. The timber makes the power bill way lower (I dont care about that thou) and the temps are also lower it also looks like it will work for a longer period. Other than that I am selling my cobs now, I am not really happy. The mars and many burples are not the best quality, my mars lasted 1 year and then started to fail (already had to fix it 3 times and paid under 40 bucks each time), its been 3 years running and still works better than my new cobs, but understand that the 900w mars was not even close to 900w, it still got me around half a kilo after 3 month anyway, with the cobs only got 250grams and it was advertised as a 600w hps replace (not even close).

So to end this, if you can DIY go for it, its super easy and I believe that with 9 cobs I might get what I can achieve with the burple but still not sure why I dont get nice phenos with white light as with purple ones. I will keep using burples as main one and add cobs that I will build.

To compare lights I used the same amount of plants, same seeds, same soil, same nutes, did everything the same way with both. In my country is legal to grow, here we have growshops in every corner, used to live in canada and they are not even close to be as in here where everyone grows (no coffee shops here because of that).

Good luck to everyone, I dont work for any company but I know many of you do, bye.

It seems the more I read the less I understand.

I tried posting questions in the Indoor Growing forum and got stiffed, it seems, because my LED lights(King 800w) are not sufficient, so it seems that helping a medical patient that is an inexperienced grower isn't what happens here. I've posted pics of some of the scrog racks I made and the ingredients, but got stopped cold because my lights are "blurples" WTF does that mean, anyway? I repeatedly stated that I'm an idiot for getting bullshitted into buying these and I'm sorry, but could someone help me understand the scrog thing better because I've had trouble getting all the tops to be growing the same height, and I have a lot of smaller branches growing under the screen... but nothing besides
i got conned, as my lights are shit(more or less) though I did get an answer about the cost of HID bulbs, but totally left out anything helpful about the situation I'm presently in(disabled, out of work, no paycheck for over 5 years, and stuck with four 800w King LED's) and/or any help about growing.

My thread is Scrog help or something like that in Indoor Growing. Any assistance that doesn't require spending money I don't have would be a gift and very well appreciated.

I'm really in a hard place, but I think I've got enough equipment to work my way out of the worst of it with a little guidance from someone wih more experience.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Biggest problem with the pics you posted is likely that nobody could actually see your plants properly under that bluish-purple, or "blurple", light. It's why there's even a thread telling people NOT to do pics under HPS or blurple lights because leaf colours, etc, are completely screwed under said lights.

No offence, but if you need help then do what people ask and post pics in NATURAL or normal white lighting, otherwise you'll get shot down every time for not following the basic instruction handed out regarding all pics.

You'll grow something with your lights, that's a given, but please post pics in normal lighting.

You can definitely take your “this is a place for kids” shit and go fuck yourself with it.

Sounds like maybe you are the one who works for a lighting company, newbie.

If RIU is such a fuckup of a place, what does that say about you sitting here whining like a girl about RIU being such a fuckup of a place?

Take your whiny piss-stained pants and fuck off if you don't like the place.

You can not be further from the truth....

Many of us are medical patients ourselves. Many of us have been growing with COB and full spectrum white LED for a while.

Many of us have pasted not just our builds, but also journaled grows. This is more a DIY community, so you are going to get hit and miss response on the commercial stuff.
HLG very finely treads the string between DIY and prebuild units.

There is a very nice scrog thread at the top of the advanced growing section.

Remeber you will need to learn to trim and shape your growth as time goes along. It is not a set and forget method of training.
