Ahhhhh, ok I missed that 135 woooops

I dunno really which would be better. In lumens its like 9000 difference, since its sort of supplemental, Its debatable how much is "enough" I suppose.

I'm leaning towards the 1050 because it can still be dimmed to 100 watts and used as a veg light, but still put out an extra 100 if I need it,

it is only 3$ of a difference. I just don't want it to be an overload lol.

Even a $25 LUX meter can prove to be invaluable when it comes to the question of, "enough" light in a given area....

so its not the most accurate since i couldn't be fucked moving my plants and making a grid, but i did it as accuratley as i could with some string across so i was measuring at 12" across the board.

i also turned off my other panel so this is accurate for 1 of my panels, which is 6 of the 1m strips, for 300w. panel is 20" wide and strips are 2" apart.

i took 4 measurements each "line" so first measurement under the furthermost strip, then middle, middle, edge again. did the same along the panel (strips are 1m long)

bit lower then i expected the results to be, but this is again just 1 panel, no reflective surfaces. when i turn the other panel on its a fair bit better, and i will have 4 panels in here soon so i'll do measurements across the board on all of them.

also just for comparison, this is LUX on my phone app reading between 30-35k LUX across the same area.

If you have it, go with that. It is interesting to me that if you spend $500 on a top-shelf par meter and then the "calibration uncertainty" is still +/- 5%. I would expect better. And with what you have, the girls are happy, you grow piles a bud, and it all happens at say an average of 600 on YOUR par meter across YOUR canopy. Sweet! As a hobbyist, who needs the Apogee or Licor?

And, as an aside, the mid-power strips put down the most uniform blanket of photons I've ever seen! And the EBs are the sweet spot for most photons, best price, most rugged and easiest to cool. Just saying.

Hello Guys,
I am new to the forum and to growing weed. After some research I decided that my first grow light should be a DIY EB-Series! Maybe you could help me out with some questions I have. First of all, I bought a 80cmx80cm (0,64cm² ~ 7sqft) growtent and I want to get close to the 50 Watts per sqft. Bidgelux' offical datasheet shows that running BXEB-L0560Z-30E2000-C-A3 at 700 mA gives 2410 lm and uses 15.5 W (156 lm/W). 20 stripes of these should give me enough light (15.5W x 20 = 310 W | 310W / 7 sqft ~ 45 W/sqft), what do you think? Would you run them harder and lose efficency? Would you go with 20x 3K or with a mix like 12x 3K, 4x 3,5K and 4x 4K? It will be used for veg and flower. I dont like the idea to only run one driver, i would prefer to use at least 2 or even 4, do you have any driver recommendations?

Thanks a lot guys! I already learned a shit ton from you all!

Looks like you have solid calculations there.
Meanwell HLG-185H-C700 - this driver can run 12 560mm EBs. If you want an external dimming lead get the B version.

50 w per sqft is overkill with these but you have the right idea!

I would mix, and get 2 drivers. 1 @4k for veg(100W), 1 @3k (200W) in addition for flowering. Personally I rarley max out the drivers, and run my strips a little softer.

I also used 4800 (8x5700+4x3000) with great results, usually my lanky plants will get this spot.

Hi all,

This thread makes for some very interesting reading! Anyone had any experience with these in a PC grow case?
I have a brainchild right now of building a 1x1 mini box with the 280mm version, just to see what sort of readings I can get in that area.
Theres a whole forum of micro cab stuff, these are mentioned more and more often these days....
I'm absoultely a maximum EB strip knobjockey fanboy

Hey guys just getting into the led hype so looking up on all the different leds. How many eb series would i use for a 4x4 flower tent? Ive currently got a 600 watt hps

I'd say the same as @Danielson999 with those EB's......12 should be perfect. Good amount of lumens at your chosen K and perfectly spread out. I'd go with 3000K for flowering.
I have a 4x2 and am planning 3 of the Samsung 1156mm strips with 2 rows of led's, the FB24B just as an aside...but the strips appear to be really good, I think the uniformity of the light works well with strips :)

Thanks guys. I cant seem to source the 1120mm strips only the 560mm so if i was to get 24 x 560mm strips what drivers would i use? And they only have 3500k that should do for flowering shouldnt it
