The time share idea is ok.
I know people that own timeshares all over the place but theres alot of pros and cons in that type of setup.
Theres is usually arguments or maintainance and percentages of ownership or if someone wants out etc.
How this whole idea started was basically i grew up a hood rat. Ive lived in every ghetto neighbourhood in toronto.
Ive watched many of my friends and family struggle to get by in the city and i always vowed when i decide to slow down i would move up north.
I plan to live there fulltime
And i hoped to share that with likeminded people.
My dreams of being rich and making tons of money have waned over the years.
Id rather just focus on being happy and helping to make life even marginally happier for as many people as possible.

Im hoping summer of 2015 if i can get started in the next couple months.
Thats the best part of using containers as building structure bones is they could be all assembled and finished really fast.

see your approach is perfected...since you are doing it for the right reasons...
you have basically already become successful...its because of a zen style philosophy

It was the containers that got my wife thinking....she loved the idea....for small cottages
she had me watching video's for the next few hours.... the other day when we were chatting

Your wifes a smart woman then because most people think ewww its a cold steel box.
But really its 400sq feet of building already made for $2000. You would have a hard time building out of any other material for that money.

ya for sure its the best approach.....I have a tendency to get down....from living long term with pain....
Its sometimes hard not to...I have tried all the pills and that approach...just didn't work...but rather had me wanting to kill myself...at some points....I switched my approach and everything changed....

yes your def...right...she found it to be the most wear and tear able place imaginable ...and so easy to clean...
and paint...plus you have a certain artistic quality to boxed containers you can stack...

cordwood construction is pretty cheap

Yes cordwood is cheap and so is cob but alot more time to build and no where near as strong durable and long lasting.
Ive considered so many building materials and after looking at all the options i think the shipping containers make the most sense when everything is taken into account.
Cost
Build time
Lifespan

Might not matter in the end.
One investor today told me he isnt interested in businesses dependant on rental incomes.
The second guy wants me to meet his partner next week because he thinks im a "character" but he warned me his partner might not want to get involved unless i can come up with 20% of my own money.
We shall see maybe summer of 16' is a more realistic timeframe

I wish it were that easy.
I wouldnt know the first thing about starting a fundraiser.
Outside of a few of you guys on here and a couple friends everyone thinks im crazy and that this idea isnt worth the time and effort.
Im a patient person if its meant to be it will be.

you have a plan & the idea. check out kick-starter's website to see how you can go about it.
the idea is for people like us to be able to crowd-fund so it's not complicated. i will check into it if you want. i have never done it but now would be a good time to look at it. i want to crowd-fund something else so i do need the knowledge
guess i should say "it's not complicated" because i have never been on the site
