Children around grow-ops??

Just want to know what you guys thoughts are on children on the premises? I have a 4 year old boy and I want to set up 1 plant out in the storage room of the garage. Its at the back of the garage and you have to walk through the garage to get to it. I only want 1 plant - 2 MAXIMUM for personal smoke...Not to sell or nothing like that! There will be no way for anyone to access the room as im going to deadbolt that sucker. Only issue is that im having problems with my conscience! Is it wrong to grow the herb with a kid living at the property, even if it wont be accessible to them! Im in Aus where its a no no in the eyes of the LEO

Thoughts guys?

If it was me I wouldn't do it..don't they have medical there?

The thing is..no it isn't wrong to grow the herb. it is good. but right now the law says you can't. i'm not sure how the law goes there, but here they could try and take your kid if you got caught.

Maybe for your situation you can find a spot outside>>??somewhere

good luck!

Its a tough decision that's for sure. The way I look at it is I am saving a bunch of money growing my own, that I can then spend on my family rather than my habit. I wouldn't feel so bad if my wife smoked. Don't get me wrong, she has her own vices, just not bud.

Do you have a grow at your place?

I look at it as it being no different then the 40 house plants I have and that as long as it's locked up well that it really isn't an issue. But it's a personal choice.

IMO, there is nothing wrong at all with growing weed with children in the house, especially if it is for personal use only.

If you are worried about law enforcement, I can understand. Morally I have no problem with growing weed with children in the house as long as normal precautions are taken.

I am in a legal state and have no issues growing with two small children. I showed both of them my tent and they are not interested in it at all.
There is no danger. I can't get them to eat anything green, why would they be eating anything from my plants?

The room is locked most of the time, but they have no interest in going in there anyway.
There are many plants that are toxic if ingested and there for much more dangerous to grow than weed. I probably have house plants that are more dangerous than cannabis.

Living in Australia you probably have 20 things in your yard that are more dangerous than marijuana.

About 1000 species of plants in Australia are known to be toxic to animals and humans and plenty more cause skin and eye irritation, rashes or discomfort. About 10 per cent of plants in Australia even make cyanide.
Keep your kids safe from the Dingos and throw another prawn on the barbie.
Weed is the least of your worries.

i wouldn't do it if there was a kid there or not if it was illegal!! Ask yourself this "Is growing 1 or 2 plants for myself for personal smoke worth possibly getting arrested and/or losing my child?" F that bro i would defffff not do it unless you were licensed to for medical reasons.

If you look at the risk/reward, if for whatever slim reason LEO finds plant, would/could a child protective services type agency start proceedings against you for removal of child from home?

It is a hard decision. Morally people see the plant in different ways. Legally, well speeding is illegal do people stop driving over the speed limit because they have kids in the backseat?
Let's say you own a vineyard and make wine. Would that be different having your kids running through the vineyard, or crushing grapes, etc? Wine country is full of kids running through vineyards...

Main thing, if you decide to grow, be ready to shred it all at the drop of a hat. No plant is worth risking your children over.

I live in the UK.

I have been caught growing.

I received a caution.

I did have "social services" make an appointment to come and see me.

They came to my home and interviewed myself and my wife. My son at the time was nearly 12months old.

I asked the person if they wanted to see where I was doing it. So I showed them my dismantled room.

Social services were satisfied that I had seen the error of my ways and closed the case.

I own my own home, it is CLEAN, tidy and a great place to live and grow up. My cupboards are always stocked with food.

I started growing again 2 months later.

Your child is safe as long as you can show your home life isn't effected by what you're doing.

Just my own personal experience.

If you are a Licenced med patient or live where it is legal-- I agree 100% w/ johndamon....

but if you aren't- I wouldn't risk it-- there are People here in Michigan who ARE legal Caregivers (growers) who are still fighting to get their kids back DESPITE doing everything legally & by the books...
all depends on the attitudes of the Law/courts where you live...

For me, the only worry would be that the kid may end up saying something at school about it, a teacher hearing what the child has said, then you end up with 6 police officers round your house at 4:30am kicking down your door for 1 or 2 plants.

I would just like to point out though that my grow room is completely hidden.

I have a walk in closet in my bedroom.

Fortunately my bedroom is large enough to erect a fake wall the whole width of the room.

Door hidden behind some shelving into the fake wall area which is a walkway that I use to store my nutrients etc.

At the end of the walkway is the closet door.
