Hey all.

I've recently set up a closet for growing some personal marijuana. I'm trying to just grow the plant first and then get into it more.I got a few seeds from a friend
forget what strain
:cuss:

Grow Area - Closet 4'W x 2'D x 8'H

Lighting - Right now for the seeds x4 27watt CFLs. When they get a bigger I will use a Standard Area Light.http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&productId=100652898&N=10000003+90156

Ventilation - Just one fan moving air(is that enough???)

Medium - Garden soil.

Temp - n/a

Humidity - 2
0%

PH - 5.5 - 6.0

as u have carpet ect.. bit dodgy having cable over the place looking at pic mmm.. wot abot taking a little knotch out between the door frame where the hings are, big enough for ur cable, on the bottom then maybe u could then run it along ur wall outside or even tuck in under carpet along ur wall/floor and if u change or stop just use a poly filler for the knotch u took out or even keep the bit u take out then u just stick it back an re paint

Use potting soil not garden soil or Fox Farm Ocean Forest also your ph is too low bring it up between 6.5 to 7.0 for soil. Don't use halogen for growing plants they don't work just get another cfl and one fan is fine for that size grow room but you will need to bring in fresh air also. As far as getting power to your grow room don't know other than extentsion cord.

Man.. you got a ways to go...
Dont worry about the electric cords...

Like somebody said.. you need more lights. If you just want to go with "normal" bulbs get more CFL. Get the daylight (6500k) for the veg stage. Get the highest wattge bulbs you can get (I use 42 watt CFL). And get the cfl Bulb no more than 3 inches away from the plants. Halogen bulbs are too hot and dont emmit as much light per watt as CFL.

Im also doing my grow in a carpeted closet and i just have 2 extension cords runing in the closet,no big deal. You can look at the pics in my journal.

Another closet grower here. If you're doing your shopping at Home Depot since that is the link to the light you posted, you can pick up Y-splitters for the sockets for $1.98 a pop. Lets you put two bulbs in one socket. The Home Depot near me carries 26watt CFLs as the highest wattage. Two per plant will put you in great shape for the rest of veg. But I would get no less than four total right now and plan to add some more later. Just get three Y-splitters, one socket, and one cord, and a 4-pack of bulbs 6500K. Fit two of the Y-splitters into the other splitter and now you can put in 4 bulbs per socket. This does work, I have tried it.

I now have 3 lights on the plants and plan to get a Y splitter tonight and have 6 lights on them. On each of the plants I have a clear cup on them. I have a total of 9 plants and there all doing great:bigjoint:

Looks good. They should stop stretching so much now that they have more light. Should just be growing new leaves from now on. Only thing that would concern me is that the sides of that container are really high. Bad for air circulation. It might be a heat sink in there with the lights practically inside the container. Do you have a fan blowing down from the top because anything blowing from the side won't work with such high walls. I would also transplant every sprout that doesn't have its own container as soon as you can. If roots from multiple plants grow together and get tangled you are in for a world of problems in a container that size. But yea the y-splitters and bulbs are definitely a step in the right direction.

regular 16 oz solo cup should be good for a few weeks. But I can tell they are growing. Right on. Don't worry about the yellow leaf. Sh*t happens. You're only using plain water, right?
