Bonjour
Thanks for the link @qwerkus but do you know why there is 2x+ and 2x- on the chip?
Like a + and a +*...!?
Is it to plug 2 different driver?
It is what I believe...and it looks very convenient if we could run both or one of each!
What do you think?
Have a great day ★
Seems correct. The docu reads "2 channels", each one powering half the leds. Probably because finding 300+W drivers is nearly impossible. In the high end tiny pc world, they also use 2 bricks because of that. As soon as there is a TME link, I will post it.

Just saw it. Has been updated during the last days - dunno why. Must be somehow related to citizen and not tme, since I got a strange message from official citizen distributor in the eu telling me that since I can't get the ships in retail, they are offering me one sample - though not the exact model I wanted. I think your best shot is to call tme directly. I could not reach them yet.

Nah, certification is not the problem. Rather marketing. If you have a manufacturer license, they offer awesome prices. I happen to know a manufacturer - if enough people are in' maybe I can arrange something...

Bonjour
I am looking for 5000ºk cob but I have to figured out if they are better or as good as the vero!
I was planning on buying 12 vero13 and run them on an hlg-185-500b
But if I find the same or a better deal with some citizen for the same/better efficiency...I am in!
Maybe 50/60w chip run at 16w would be cool for vegg (and if there is 2+ and 2- it is awesome! )
Have a great day ★

What about the other cobs available in tme?
CU
No idea - didn't try any of them. Feel free to share your experience! For the rest, I wrote an official letter to Citizen/jp about the lack of availability of their chips in Europe. Let's see if I get any reaction. Maybe more free chips! Would love to try out the CLU055.

Overall, SupraSPL and Alesh analysed the CL056 and found out it's a chip to run hard. So Those ultra low settings <1A are probably not the best option.

EDIT: The free sample I (hope) to get is CLU046 5000°K. Will update once the chip and the driver arrived.

Thank you for worrying about my alphabetisation level ;) Actually, my plan would be to feed those COB some 50-60W max, and see if I can break the cree cxb efficiency chart... I have no Idea how I would cool 365W in my kitchen.

EDIT: http://www.zalman.com/global/product/Product_Read.php?Idx=416
Rated for 300W. I once had one, and this cooler just rocks. You can get one for 20€ en ebay. Perhaps I will test the derating curve after all...
A liquid cooled CPU fan. Nifty!

I believe that my country is one of the most taxed in the world...
You pay all the time and for everything...you gonna say sex stay free!...but no...you pay for condom...if you know well the girl (man) you pay for contraception (pills, or something else...!)TAX TAX TAX
So if I can save some money in anyway...I go for it (I never pay train ticket)
Grow hemp in my country could send me in jail for 5 years and pay a big fine...so
Talking about sex again? Yes, it's free... much like Henry Ford's 'free' model T offer; 'if I had a guarantee that they had to come to a Ford dealership to repair their vehicle, I'd GIVE them the car!'

I contacted TME and they said to contact my country specific citizen sales rep. Looks as if citizen has decided to sell from regional distributors. Kind of old school and crap. Maybe they are not familiar with the new world wide web that seems all the rage at the moment.
It is ntsc/pal dvd regional marketing reborn, pretty innovative.

Cheers,
Will

Thank you for the input. Same here; than you go on and contact regional distributor which tell you they don t do retail. Pretty stupid. Maybe we should petition citizen... or just buy something else! I mean' even nichia chips are easier to find!

Hello everyone,
I am in euro to, I contacted Citizen in USA and germany and for people living in france you have to buy from eurocomposant.
I just called them and they can sell for a minimum amount of 150 euros, but as they have no CLU56 in stock, minimum order would be 10 COB. The price is 49euros HT per COB. I guess it is a very good deal considering the efficiency of the led and it is size. I am negociating in order to buy only a few but if some are interested PM me.

Nice from you @speedyganga but with vat 20% it will be about 59 € piece.
3590 are 48.50 $ (40 €...43 including shipping and paypal tax)
How many watt max is this chip (cxb is 157w max I guess)
And ran @1400mA is it more efficient than a 3590?
Have a nice day!

Thank you for the input. Can you specifcy the exact chip ? There are many CLU056 and 3618 is nearly. twice as powerful as 1825.
I'm looking for the following chips (depending on price)
CLU046-1812C1-503
CLU046-1812C1-403
or
CLU046-1818C1-503
CLU046-1818C1-403

plus one CLU055 4000K ra80 to test.

I can arrange for a shipping address in France. You can PM me I interested into a deal together. Please ask if HT is OK for people living outside the EU.
